Principal's Message
This week's message comes from our esteemed Assistant Principal, Mrs. Abby Jinks:
Dear Worthingway Families,
I am writing to share that I will be concluding my time as Assistant Principal at Worthingway at the end of this school year. After four meaningful years in this role, my husband and I have made the decision to move to Cleveland to be closer to family.
This decision was not an easy one. Worthingway is a special place, and it has been an honor to serve this community. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated staff, supportive families, and the remarkable students who walk our halls each day.
The children you entrust to us are what make this work so meaningful. They are the reason I have come to work each day smiling, laughing, and growing. I often tell students that I learn from them every day. I hope they know how true that is and how grateful I am for them.
I will always remember my first day with students in the building in the fall of 2022 (my first day ever as a school administrator). At the end of the day, our principal at the time, Nathan Kellenberger, came into my office and asked, “So, what did you think?” My immediate response was, “These kids are awesome.” From the very beginning, students welcomed me, greeted me with smiles on their faces, held doors, and showed genuine curiosity about who I was. From that day on, you have entrusted me with your children and welcomed me into your community, and I am beyond grateful for the trust you placed in me to support them on their educational journeys.
While I am excited for what lies ahead, I will deeply miss being part of the Worthingway community. I have full confidence that the school will continue to thrive, and I look forward to hearing about all the great things to come.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and the opportunity to serve your children.
With sincere gratitude,
Abby Jinks

Staff Shoutouts!
- To Ms. Bateman:
I would like to recognize Ms. Bateman for the incredible care and attentiveness she shows her students. Ms. Bateman goes above and beyond to care for the whole child, not just academically, but emotionally as well. She has a special ability to connect with her students and create a classroom environment where they feel safe, comfortable, and truly seen. Her awareness, compassion, and willingness to take that extra step made a meaningful difference for our child and for our family. She is truly making a positive impact every day.

Important REMINDERS
Medications at School:
- Students in grade 6-12 are permitted to carry and self-administer over-the-counter medications at school, only if a form has been completed and signed by their parent/guardian, and has been turned in to our School Nurse, Joyce Casey. You may find this form here. Students are never permitted to share these medications with others at school. Parent/guardians are also able to elect for the over-the-counter medicine to remain in the health office, and dosages are administered and recorded by Mrs. Casey.
- Prescription medications (with the exception of epipens and albuterol inhalers) are not allowed to be carried by students, and must remain in the health office. All medications, prescription and over-the-counter, must come to our school buildings in their original containers so they can be properly identified.
- Please take extra care to make sure your student is only bringing medications to school that have appropriate forms filed with the health office. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Casey at 614-450-4300 or jcasey@wscloud.org.

They will get to learn from and alongside industry professionals and current DACC students, all while making new friends who have similar interests. It is a great way to kick off your summer and begin to experience the magic of career-technical education in your own community!

PTA Update
THE PTA WANTS YOU - JOIN OUR TEAM!
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, we are inviting YOU to be part of something really special - the Worthingway PTA leadership team!
Here's the thing… Being on the PTA is genuinely a blast. We're talking about working alongside the Student Council to plan Canteen, going all out for Teacher Appreciation Week, kicking off school fundraisers, supporting our amazing administrative staff behind the scenes, and yes… Having some real fun with our students along the way.
There are so many ways to get involved, no matter your schedule or experience level. No prior PTA experience is needed - just a willingness to show up, collaborate, and make an impact on the students, teachers, and community at Worthingway.
We are currently looking to fill a few roles, and we have one we're especially excited about:
VICE PRESIDENT
We are looking for someone who is ready to help steer the ship! Our incoming VP will work alongside our current Vice President during the 2026–2027 school year, setting them up to step into the President role for 2027–2028. This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved and a higher level at your own pace, with a team beside you every step of the way! No experience necessary! Just a heart for making a difference.
Interested in any PTA role or want to learn more? We'd love to hear from you!
Reach out to us directly at: worthingwaypta@gmail.com
We can't wait to meet our next team members. Come be part of something great!
With gratitude,
