Hardy Happenings
September 8, 2025

Dear Hardy Families,
I have had more time in classrooms lately, and it is always the best part of my day. I am seeing students lean into learning, teachers guiding new curriculum with skill and care, and so many moments of curiosity, kindness, and growth. We have a lot to celebrate!
This Friday is Dad’s Club Movie Night. We hope you can join us. Have your student vote for the movie in the Dad's Club section below!
Volunteer meeting
The volunteer process has changed this year. If you plan to chaperone a field trip or volunteer for Everyone A Reader, you now need Class D clearance with a Live Scan. I am happy to answer questions tomorrow at 3:30 on Microsoft Teams.

Volunteer clearance at a glance
• Class C, no Live Scan required, classroom volunteering with the teacher present, field day, fall carnival, jog-a-thon, etc. There are many opportunities to volunteer through Class C!
• Class D, Live Scan required, field trip chaperones, Everyone A Reader, any role that supervises students without a staff member present
On-site Live Scan this Friday
A mobile Live Scan service will be on campus during movie night from 6 to 8 pm. The cost is 70 dollars, payable by cash, credit card, or Apple Pay. Please bring a driver’s license, state ID, or passport, and complete the form in advance if possible. Please RSVP here.
Once you complete Live Scan with SDUSD, it remains valid for your student’s time at Hardy, and beyond, as long as you volunteer each school year with no gap longer than one year. If you have questions about your status, please call the front office.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Aragon
