A Note from Mrs. Garcia
Good afternoon, Patriot Families!
Fall is in the air, and with the first quarter behind us, we have plenty to celebrate and even more to look forward to at Aubrey Rogers High School! As we settle into the season and look ahead to the holidays and some well-deserved breaks, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful things happening across our campus.
From an exciting Homecoming week filled with Patriot pride to our National Honor Society induction ceremony recognizing outstanding student achievement, it has been a busy and rewarding few weeks. We are also incredibly proud of our Patriot Band for earning first place at the FFCC competition! Congratulations to our talented musicians and directors for this outstanding accomplishment. Our students have also been hard at work completing their first-quarter assessments and participating in the PSAT.
With the start of the second quarter, report cards are available beginning today, October 19, through FOCUS and the Parent Portal. We encourage families to review their student's progress, celebrate their accomplishments, and set goals for the weeks ahead.
As October continues, we have several exciting activities on the horizon, including our Principal for a Day celebration, Academic Booster Club events, and our second Resiliency Education Module during the week of October 26–30. With the holiday season just around the corner, we look forward to more opportunities to celebrate our students and come together as a Patriot community.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are grateful for our families, faculty, staff, and community members who make Aubrey Rogers such a special place. Wishing everyone a wonderful fall season filled with opportunities to enjoy time with family and friends!
All day, every day, the Patriot Way!

A Note from Student Relations
Student course credit is awarded in accordance with State of Florida attendance requirements. Students who accumulate more than nine (9) absences during a semester may be subject to credit denial, meaning they will not receive credit for the course even if they earn a passing grade.
Throughout the semester, students and families are informed of attendance concerns through conferences, attendance notifications, and letters sent home. In addition, students receive official notification of any credit denial decision at the end of the semester.
In some cases, students may receive credit withheld rather than immediate credit denial. Credit withheld provides students with an opportunity to regain the denied credit by demonstrating improved attendance during the following semester. To have the credit restored, the student must not exceed nine (9) absences during that semester. At the conclusion of the semester, the school will review the student's attendance record and either restore the credit in recognition of improved attendance or permanently deny the credit if the attendance expectation was not met.
Students with credit denial who are applying to colleges are generally not eligible for an early restoration of credits. However, Student Services reviews seniors with prior credit denials throughout the school year. Seniors who demonstrate exemplary attendance may be considered for credit restoration after the Thanksgiving break.
While we understand the importance of college applications and graduation requirements, students and parents are notified before credit is denied and are provided opportunities to improve attendance and avoid these consequences.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting your child's academic success. Please help reinforce the importance of attending school every day, on time, and for the full school day to ensure your child remains in good standing and earns the credits needed for graduation.

As part of the Physical Education curriculum, Coach Grissom’s students just finished participating in a Flag Rugby unit that focuses on teamwork, communication, strategy, and sportsmanship while engaging in a fun and fast-paced activity. Through a variety of drills and game-play experiences, students are developing important health-related components of fitness, including cardiorespiratory endurance through continuous movement, muscular strength and muscular endurance through running, passing, and defensive activities, flexibility through dynamic warm-ups and movement patterns, and body composition by promoting regular physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits. Flag rugby encourages students to stay active, work collaboratively, and build confidence while learning skills that support lifelong fitness and wellness. It is exciting to see students challenge themselves, improve their fitness levels, and enjoy the benefits of positive physical activity.
