Safety Safety

Emergency Operations Practice

  • We have scheduled drill practices for all Emergency Operations Protocols. Be sure to speak to your child about the seriousness of practicing drills and listening to teachers/staff for pertinent information during those events.

HB 1473 Expectations

  • ALL employees MUST wear their district-issued ID badge at ALL TIMES.
  • ALL doors and gates MUST be locked and closed or actively manned at all times.
  • ALL Visitors MUST sign in using Raptor and wear the issued ID while on campus.

Morning Drop-Offs

Times to Remember:

  • School Starts at 7:50.
  • The gate by the Greenhouse will be closed and locked at 7:40.
  • The PPU Door & Main Entrance Door will be closed and locked at 7:50.
  • Please DO NOT park in the Bus Loop or along that loop. This includes the corner by the fence. We must ensure our busses have full access. Deputies will be posted in this location.

If you are dropping off your child after 7:50, instruction has begun and students will need to enter in through the Front Office for a tardy pass.

Visitors on Campus

If you wish to walk your child to class, we will have Raptor stations open near the Main Hall entrance. You MUST HAVE AN ID to Raptor in. You MUST KEEP THE STICKER ON the entire time.

When our Morning Announcements begin at 7:50, all visitors must be off campus, so that Instruction may begin.

We will open up Lunch with your child once we have our procedures for Lunch, Cafeteria, and Transitions down pat- this includes Birthday visits in the Cafeteria.

We appreciate your patience.

Academics Academics

Classroom Expectations & Procedure Practice

Teaching starts on Day 1! The first phase of teaching is the explicit instruction of Expectations and Procedures for all classrooms, transitions, Specials, Cafeteria, Dismissal, days with subs, etc.

Here are a few things that your child's teacher will cover:

  • How to enter and exit the classroom
  • How to prepare for the day - backpacks, pencils, materials, listening to announcements, etc.
  • How to line up for transitions - lunch, Specials, dismissal, etc.
  • How to use the RR appropriately - including while at lunch
  • How to respond to emergencies - Lockdowns, Fire Drills, Weather, etc.

Teaching expectations and procedures with examples and non-examples is never a waste of time and should be a part of our daily plan for starting the day and reseting when behaviors are not to the expectation that has been established.

Families, please help us reinforce all expectations and procedures for School time.

Curriculum & Resources

In accordance to our K-12 District Reading Plan, we have specific curriculum and resources that are used on campus. Here's what we use:

  • Reading (ELA) - Benchmark Advance, Open Court
    • Intervention - SIPPS, LLI, Steps to Benchmark, ACT Materials
  • Math - Florida Reveal
  • Science - McGraw-Hill
  • Social Studies - Analytic Orange

  • The first day of 21st CLCC is Monday, August 19th.
  • There is still room for students in the afterschool program, please complete the online application if you are interested.

Dismissal Procedures

Here's what is happening behind the scenes of dismissal and how you can help:

  • School ends at 2:35 pm daily.
  • ALL STUDENTS WILL BE ESCORTED BY SUPERVISING ADULTS TO ALL DISMISSAL LOCATIONS.
  • Walker Families:
    • Students will gather in the Holding Tank Room and be escorted out to the Big Oak Tree just past the sidewalk of PPU as a whole group like last year.
    • Please MEET US AT THE TREE. Students will not be released to walk alone in the parking.
  • Parent Pick-Up Families:
    • A Google Doc with PPU numbers is displayed in each PPU Holding Tank Room - Please help your child learn their number and to listen for their name to be called to speed up the process.
    • Please be sure that your PPU hanging number is clearly visible when in the PPU lane.
    • Stay in your vehicle and pull all the way down for easy transition.
  • Students' dismissal assignment is based on what you designated at the beginning of the year. For any changes, a note and parent signature is required to be turned into the Front Office. For safety reasons, changes will not be made over the phone.
  • All bus status questions should be routed to Mellissa Sheridan @ MBES or Mrs. Jackie/Jennifer @ Transportation.
