Safety Spotlight Safety Spotlight

Thank you so much for following our new Morning Arrival expectations. Your cooperation has allowed us to maintain a safe and organized arrival for our students.

As we continue to work together to keep our students safe, we want to remind everyone of the importance of following safe driving and drop-off and pick-up practices around our school.

Our goal is to create safe spaces for our students and reduce unnecessary traffic and congestion around the school. If your child is old enough and able to safely walk, ride a bike, or ride a scooter home, we encourage you to consider allowing them to do so. Fewer vehicles around the school helps create a safer environment for everyone.

For families who are driving, please remember to:

  • Follow ALL traffic laws
  • Do not park in the handicapped stalls unless you are legally permitted to do so
  • Drive slowly and remain alert for students and pedestrians
  • Use designated crosswalks when crossing the street
  • Please do not park or stop in areas that block the visibility of pedestrians or other drivers

Important reminder regarding the Slant Road crosswalk: cars must park at least 30 feet away from the stop sign and crosswalk. Vehicles parked too close to this area make it difficult for drivers who are turning to see oncoming traffic and create a dangerous situation for pedestrians and other vehicles.

We know that arrival and dismissal can be busy and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation. Please remember that a few extra minutes or choosing to walk or ride home can make a significant difference in keeping our students safe.
