Year 5 Meet Their Pen Pals Year 5 Meet Their Pen Pals

On Wednesday, the Year 5 children travelled to St Peter’s C of E Primary School in Leeds to meet their pen pals for the very first time, after exchanging letters. The children took part in a range of activities designed to help them get to know one another.

They enjoyed an orienteering challenge around the school grounds, where they worked together to unscramble clues and discover each school’s values. Another activity encouraged them to learn more about their new friends by designing a friendship shield, sparking lots of conversation and laughter.

The children loved having lunch outdoors together, followed by a refreshing ice lolly.

It was a fantastic experience for all involved, and we are already looking forward to welcoming the children and staff to our school in July for another memorable day together.

Well done to this week's stars.

Nursery – Logan, for great use of vocabulary when re-telling a story.

Reception – Brodie, for impressing us with the mature way he solves problems calmly and independently without needing adult support.

Year 1 – Olivia W, for being a superstar in RE this week. She did a super job retelling the Christian creation story and showed brilliant enthusiasm when recreating the story using playdough. She showed fantastic fine motor skills to do this.

Year 2 – Sadie, for showing fantastic determination and resilience in maths, trying hard to talk through her thinking and using pictures to help herself.

Year 3 – Kiyansh, for writing an exciting and entertaining myth. He used amazing language choices and a range of features to make his writing a real joy to read.

Year 4 – Lily, for her careful approach to using a range of techniques to create tints and shades in her artwork.

Year 5 – Gabby, for consistent input in class that is always valued. Gabby is also trying really hard to understand our new maths unit and helping those around her.

Year 6 - Imogen, for always having a fantastic attitude to learning, always going above and beyond!

Sports Day Arrangements Sports Day Arrangements

Arrangements will be the same as last year with the EYFS sports day beginning at 9am straight after drop off. KS1 and KS2 will begin their sports day at 1:30pm.

Please note that we politely insist on no photography or filming, and also that everyone is prepared for postponement if the weather is bad. Thank you in advance.

Nursery and Reception Sports Day - Morning of Thursday 21st May

Sports Day will start as near to 9am as possible, straight after registration, and will last approx. 30 - 45 mins. If children could please arrive in shorts and t-shirts, with a hat, sunscreen applied and a water bottle and appropriate footwear.

For Nursery children who do not normally attend on a Thursday, we ask that parents drop their children at the classroom (please inform a member of staff ahead of the day if you will be doing this). Parents may then stay for the duration of the event and collect their children straight afterwards from the classroom. We are unable to keep the children for the full morning session of nursery if they do not usually attend due to maintaining staffing ratios.

An area for parents to stand will be taped off so ensure you all have a brilliant view of the athletes, and we are looking forward to the children showing you how hard they have been practising.

Year 1 to Year 6 Sports Day - Afternoon of Thursday 21st May

Children should come to school in their PE kits, plus sunhats and sunscreen as appropriate. Parents will be able to enter the school grounds around 1:20pm and events will start at 1:30. There will be areas set aside for parents to watch, and you are welcome to bring camping chairs or picnic blankets.
