*Late orders will be accepted until Wednesday, September 23rd at no additional charge. After that a $10 late fee is attached to process the order individually and to be mailed to your home.

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great third week of school!

This week we started offering library browsing time for middle schoolers during lunch. The days will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1-1:20. Students can sign up with Miss Dawn at the front office before they head up and can cross off their name when they are done.

We are allowing 5 students at a time, so when you are done choosing a book, you can’t stay in the library this year! I’m so sad! But at least students can browse and check out books!

When they are done, just drop the books in the book drop outside the library (on the second floor). All books are quarantined for three days before being returned to the shelf so we can keep everyone safe.

Volunteer Application

Parents, please take a minute to fill out the PALS volunteer application. We need a lot of help with teacher appreciation and family engagement. We're also preparing for the day when we can have parent volunteers back in the building. This is an interest form only, and does not commit you to anything. You will be placed into Sign-Up Genius groups based on your interests and skills, and will be contacted directly if/when a need matches your interest.

"Outdoor Office Hours"

PALS co-presidents Heather and Amanda will be holding open "office" hours near the Markell Hall playground on Fridays after pick-up. Starting today, September 18, you can stop by to chat about PALS news, ask questions, or just hang out at an appropriate social distance while the kids play.

Uniform Closet

As a quick reminder to all, there is an excellent 40% off sale with Land's End this week for school uniforms! If you're in need of a few more items this is the time. Flyer attached.

The uniform closet has some new items available for convenience to our parents. However, these are sold at regular prices. This is a fundraiser for PALS to be used for areas of need in the and around our school. Please, know that if you have any school uniforms to donate they are greatly appreciated! Once received and freshly laundered or repaired they are available for resale at a significantly discounted rate.

Hello Franklin Academy parents!

My name is Sara Jentz and I am serving as the Markell Hall liaison to PALS this year. I am available to answer questions regarding volunteering at Franklin, particularly for grades 2-8. I have 3 daughters at the school in 3rd, 5th and 7th grades, and this is our tenth year at Franklin. We have chosen online learning this year as we have an immunocompromised child, but we hope to return soon.

I hope this finds you all well. We are currently looking for parents to volunteer as House Parents for their child/children's House. We need 1-2 parents for each house-Ferlin, Kaiser, Ershig and Hess. This year, the duties would include collaborating with the other House parents to organize teacher gifts for Christmas (grades 5-8 and specials) and Teacher Appreciation (usually there is a week of little fun things we do for the teacher, plus a gift at the end of the week). All teachers receive the same gift, to simplify things. You would also be the point-person for the parents in your house as well as for PALS (our parent association, Parents Actively Lending Support). Due to Covid, we can't have any class parties, so there will be no need to organize those at this time.
