A Few Words From the Principal

State assessment season is right around the corner after Spring Break, and MTMS will be modifying our schedule for State Assessments to allow additional time for students to have the time they need to complete their testing during class.

Block scheduling will begin on Thursday, March 26 and conclude on Thursday, April 16. The Blue day schedule will consist of 1, 2, 3, and 4 hours. The Red day schedule will consist of 5,6, 7, and 8 hours. W.I.N. will take place in the middle of the day before or after lunch. During W.I.N. students will do some independent reading as well as participate in some structured activities to give them a break from testing.

6th grade lunch will be from 10:39 – 11:09, 7th grade lunch will be from Lunch 11:15 – 11:45, and 8th grade lunch from Lunch 11: 53 – 12:23. Our students enjoyed the change in schedule last year and did very well on their assessments. We look forward to celebrating their success this year.

Our Dash for Cash fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House-Kansas City is off to a great start! Students still have the rest of next week to enter their names in a raffle for a chance to dash around the gym during the pep assembly, picking up dollar bills, which they get to keep. Three students — one from each grade — will win. Raffle tickets are $1 each. Have fun and help make our fundraiser a success by participating!
