School Board Notes

The Board of School Directors in a unanimous vote approved the ratification of a new 4-year collective bargaining agreement between the Methacton School District and the Methacton Education Association. The agreement set to begin July 1, 2026, will provide average annual compensation increases of 3.19% and require an increase of an additional 1% to employee healthcare benefit contributions starting in 2028-2029. The Board and the teacher’s association worked on this early bird agreement recognizing the importance of retaining and attracting top talent to the district.

Board of School Directors President Jennifer Cancro participated in her final Board meeting on Tuesday, November 25. Ms. Cancro has been a member of the Board since 2017, serving as president for the last two years. Her steady leadership and long-standing commitment have helped guide our district through important decisions and meaningful progress. We thank her for her years of dedicated service and for always keeping students at the center of the work.

The Board of School Directors will vote on a new president and swear in a new member of the Board at the Reorganization meeting on December 1.

The Spirit of Methacton Award is an opportunity to recognize our students, staff, and volunteers. Spirit of Methacton Award recipients are individuals who consistently model the qualities of the 9 core values of the Methacton School District. These individuals enrich our school community with their knowledge, commitment and support.

In November, we recognized outstanding individuals from Worcester Elementary School.

A very special thank you to Maximus DeFeo and Alana Milunic for representing Worcester Elementary School as Junior Board Representatives for November 2025. Maximus led the meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Alana delivered a statement on what makes Worcester such a great school.

Thank you for your outstanding representation of Worcester at our Board Meeting. We are truly honored to have such dedicated young leaders in our community.

The Methacton School District's Board of School Directors meets each month. School board work session meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of the month, followed by the regular meeting on the fourth Tuesday (except during the month of December). Regular Board and Work Session meetings typically take place in the Methacton High School LGI, and all residents are invited to attend. Committee meetings take place in the Farina Education Center. Meeting agendas are posted to Agenda Manager, and start times and locations are posted on the District's website. Please confirm meeting time and location before attending.
