Principal's Weekly Newsletter

A Message from Our Principals for the Day: Principal Léonore, Principal Iris, Principal Apolline, and Principal Louis Etaix
Dear St. Mary’s Families and Friends,
Being Principal for the Day last week was such an amazing experience! When Dean Kfoury asked us to describe our day, here are some words we thought of:
- Amazing
- Fun, super fun
- Extremely fun
- Amusing
- Extremely busy
- Exciting
- Very interesting
- Working A LOT
- Visiting classrooms
- Information-FULL!
We quickly learned that there is much more to being a Principal than meets the eye. Here's an overview of our day!
Our day began by receiving our official Principal for the Day badges before heading outside to help with Morning Greeting, welcoming students and families into school. We then helped make important phone calls and delivered the morning announcements to our entire school community.
We had an agenda prepared for us by our colleague, Dr. Nadjarian and Dr. Enrique, and we received our own clipboards to help us stay organized throughout the day. We spent time visiting classrooms, observing teaching, and participating in feedback sessions with teachers. We also hosted an Administrative Team meeting where we helped plan upcoming staff end-of-year celebrations and preparations for our Father's Day celebration! We engaged in team-building and problem-solving literally all day long. After we had lunch with our team and a meeting with Dean Kfoury, our day continued. Answering the phones and assisting in the main office took up a large amount of time, as did our important meeting with Fr. Jonathan and Seminarian Quinn.
By the end of the day, we learned that being a Principal is a VERY busy job that requires organization, leadership, and teamwork. We also learned that Principals spend a great deal of time helping everyone, supporting teachers, planning school events, and making sure everything runs smoothly. Most importantly, we discovered that while being a Principal involves a lot of hard work, it is also a lot of fun!
Thank you to our family, Dr. Nadjarian, Dr. Enrique, the Administrative Team and the entire St. Mary's community for giving us this memorable opportunity!
Have a great summer!

Summer Program Updates
Summer program students have been having so much fun during this first week! The theme was Ocean Animals, and students have been learning about different animals that live in the ocean through art, literacy activities, and lots of play. They made model hermit crabs, painted starfish, and started their summer journals! Students drew a variety of sea animals in their journals and recorded what they like to do with their families when they visit the ocean. On Friday, they all enjoyed some fun water play outside!
