February Hot Lunch (K-6)
Tuesday, February 3 - Subway Hot Lunch (K-6)
Tuesday, February 10 - Jerry's Burger Baron Pizza Hot Lunch (K-6)
Tuesday, February 24 - Karin Miller Turkey & Cheese Wrap, Fruit and Snack (K-6)
We have hot lunch planned out for the next few months. We have daily coordinators but we are in need of volunteers each Tuesday to help from 11:15am to 12:15pm to deliver the food to the classrooms and help clean up. If we don’t get more volunteers we will be forced to cancel hot lunch. Contact the volunteer scheduler Kathryn at 250-574-8649.
Currently Angela and Tyler Price stepped up to help finish out the year as the hot lunch team coordinators but someone else who has a child in K-6 will need to take over the reins for the next school year since their child will be moving up to grade 7. This role involves dropping off the forms/running the Google forms/ collecting and counting the money and then letting each daily coordinator know what needs to be ordered. Please consider stepping up!

Junior High Ski Trip to Nakiska
We have booked a ski trip for students in grades 7-9 to Nakiska for Wednesday, March 25. This trip is open to students of all abilities and levels. All students are required to take a lesson at the hill. After completion of the lesson, students will be able to ski with friends. The cost of the trip for students is $115.00 if rentals are required and $105.00 if the student will be providing their own equipment. The cost includes: rentals (if required), lessons, lift tickets, and transportation. There is limited space so please sign up as soon as possible.
The bus will leave at 6:00 am on Wednesday, March 25. We will stop for a quick bathroom break along the way before arriving at Nakiska around 9:30 am. Students will gear up in their ski and snowboard gear before starting their lessons. Students are able to either pack a lunch or purchase food at the lodge.
Please ensure that students have the proper clothing packed for the day. I would suggest a couple pairs of mitts/gloves, a pair of dry socks to put on when we arrive at the hill, ski pants, winter jacket, and multiple layers. Helmets are provided with the rental gear, a thin touque can fit under the helmet, but helmets do keep your head warm. Helmets are required for all students.
Students will have the opportunity to ski/snowboard until the lifts close. We will leave the hill at 4:30 pm and make a quick stop in Canmore at the Wendy’s/Tim Hortons for supper. We plan to arrive back at the school by 9:00 pm.
If your child is wanting to attend the trip please return the forms and payment to the office by Monday, March 2. Payment can be made by cash, cheque (made payable to JCC SGF), or on school cash online (please let the office know if you would like to pay online). Cheques will not be cashed until after the ski trip in case it needs to be cancelled due to weather conditions.
For further information, please see the attached letter. If you have any further questions please contact Mr. C. Raugust.
2024-205 Yearbooks

Using Parental Controls
With more and more children spending time on the Internet before and after school, the use of parent controls helps to ensure kids are not exposed to inappropriate content. Media Smarts has put together a tip sheet to help parents limit what content their children can see online, which apps and programs they can access, and how much time they should spend online.
