Accessing PTCFast.com:

1. From the SRS homepage, click on the PTCFast Parent/Teacher Conference Scheduling Link

2. A list of all teachers will be displayed.

3. Click on the name of the teacher with whom you wish to conference.

4. Select a time and enter the required information (child and parent’s name and email).

5. PTCFast.com will send you an email confirmation. The email will give you all the information you need to change your appointment and will send you a reminder of appointments.

Pop Open A Good Book

Cozy up at home with popcorn and a good book! Earlier this week, your child brought home a bag of popcorn as part of our invitation to join SRS as we celebrate National Reading Month. Here at SRS, each classroom is voting from a menu of grade appropriate read aloud/movie combinations. Their class will enjoy the book choice as a read aloud this month. Later, students and teachers will enjoy a popcorn celebration as they watch the movie version of their read aloud choice. Please celebrate with us from home by enjoying a book/movie combination of your family's choosing, and returning either the form with the movie marquee or the book to tell us why! Here are some suggestions of excellent books that have become excellent movies: Because of Winn Dixie, Wonder, The Giver, Eloise, The BFG, The Chronicles of Narnia, Wonder, Percy Jackson, Stuart Little, Holes, Matilda, Hair Love (short film), A Wrinkle in Time and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile.

Respiratory illnesses and strep appear to be on the rise again. If your child is out sick and/or has been diagnosed with anything, please notify the nurse.

ATTENTION FIFTH GRADE PARENTS: Postural screening (“scoliosis screening”) will begin in April for all students in Grade 5. Per DPH guidelines, students in grades 5,6,7,8,9 are screened annually for scoliosis. If you want your child to opt out of this screening, please send a note to Mrs. Stiles.

ATTENTION THIRD GRADE PARENTS: Grade 4 is one of the grades DPH requires physical exam documentation in school (K, 4, 7 and 10). In preparation for next year, if your child has had an annual check up anytime this year (after September 1, 2022), please send in a copy to school in an envelope labeled “for the nurse.” Thank you!

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION for the 2023-2024 school year!

Kindergarten registration for the next school year is now open. Parents have the option to register online or in person. Please be sure to complete your child’s registration no later than Friday, March 17, 2023.

Children entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years old by August 31, 2023.
