Dear Sheiko Families,

What an incredible week we’ve had at Sheiko! From celebrating the 80th day of kindergarten and showing our pride on Lions Spirit Day to enjoying a memorable first-grade social-emotional learning lesson from a puppeteer, it has been a week filled with joy and learning. We also had an exciting IXL party with Mrs. McDowell, hosted a fun PTO skating party, and continued our progress with NWEA testing. It’s safe to say this week has been a whirlwind of activity and growth for our students!

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to join the United We Walk march this Sunday at West Bloomfield Middle School. This meaningful event brings our community together in unity and reflection. We will gather by the Sheiko School sign before the march, which will take place indoors. We hope to see you there as we stand together as a community!

This week's "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" is that our 5th grade band, orchestra, and choir concert will be on Wednesday, January 22nd at 7 p.m. at West Bloomfield Middle School. All performers should report at 6:30 p.m. Students should look their best for the performance.

Thank you for your continued support in making Sheiko a wonderful place to learn and grow.

Have a great weekend!

Goooooooooooooo Lakers and Goooooooooooooooo Lions!

Warm regards,

Blaine McDowell

Partnership in Action with the Greater West Bloomfield Community Coalition

Puppet Problem solvers: Mike Brody and his first grade puppets talked about common scenarios a first grader might face. The puppets shared how they have trouble sharing, sometimes feel left out, feel worried or how they feel when someone is mean to them. Our WBSD first graders gave the puppets amazing advice and the puppets were very appreciative of their support! Thank you to the Greater West Bloomfield Community Coalition.
