We are just a few days away from the 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony!
To be sure that you have all of the information that you need handy and at the top of your email inbox, I am resending the details that have been included in some of my previous communication...
The 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 12th, beginning at 8:30 AM. The ceremony will be held in the gymnasium. Typically, the program runs about 75 minutes. The doors to the gymnasium will open at 7:45 AM and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Due to space considerations, we must limit the number of guests per student to two adults. In the case of dual households, we will allow two guests per household. We will not be able to call younger siblings from class to attend the ceremony. We are planning to livestream the ceremony on our YouTube Channel for those who are unable to attend in-person.
Parking will also likely be tight. Families should travel together in one car, if possible. We will be using all available space, including the grass area near the track, the Media Little League lot, and the grassy space to the left of the driveway as you enter from Sycamore Mill Road. Security staff will be stationed around the campus to assist you.
A few important notes...
Students should arrive to school at normal time and report to homeroom for attendance.
This is a special occasion - we hope that students will dress accordingly.
Refreshments will be served in the main lobby and cafeteria following the ceremony.
VERY IMPORTANT - Please make a plan in advance for where you will meet your child at the end of the ceremony. There will be A LOT of people in attendance and this is always a little bit tricky.
Students are permitted to leave with their families at the end of the ceremony. They will not be required to sign-out. If you are taking a younger sibling from school early, they WILL need to sign-out in the main office. Otherwise, students will remain until normal dismissal at 3:00 PM.
Students are invited to attend the last day of school on Friday, June 13th for our Deal or No Deal game show event.

The class trip to Camp Saginaw will take place on Wednesday, June 11th. Student arrival to school will be at the regular time. Buses are set to depart around 8:00 AM. The buses will not be able to wait for students who arrive late. Students should come prepared for the day - sunscreen, bathing suits, etc. The trip will take place rain or shine. Students will not need to bring money or food for the day. Buses are expected to return to Springton Lake at approximately 5:00 PM.
