In PE, 3rd-5th graders are learning how to ride unicycles! Today, they spent time practicing getting on the unicycle and balancing by using their peers and the wall for support. When asked about unicycles, a 4th grader shared, “I love learning how to ride these! The worst part is having to get off!”

Kindergarteners get a quick brain break while hard at work with phonics on Thursday morning! Mrs. Bennett’s students did a great job transitioning from learning, to their break and back to learning again!

Our 5th Graders were able to experience BizTown today! This is an annual, 5th grade tradition that our students love! Teachers work hard prior to this event to teach students about running a business, managing their time & money, supporting customers, balancing budgets, etc. Our students did a great job today and we are grateful for the efforts of our 5th grade teaching team in making this happen for our students!

Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey Extended Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey Extended

Hawks View Families,

Please take a few minutes to complete the Parent/Caregiver Experience Survey using the link in the body of this newsletter. Our partners at Studer Education are providing an opportunity for you to provide feedback anonymously. This survey will replace the Spring survey Mrs. Mitchell sent last year for feedback about your experience at Hawks View and in the Sherwood School District. We would greatly appreciate your time & participation. Your feedback will be used to celebrate our successes and to create action plans for improvement.

The survey has been extended and will remain open until Tuesday, April 16th. Thank you for your commitment to our success!

Hello Families,

K-2nd grade will be creating Earth Day projects again this year using recyclable materials. Can you please send me the following clean and dry materials from your bins?

  • cardboard boxes (tissue, crackers, snacks, cereal, etc)

  • thin plastic containers (salad, take out food, etc)

  • jar lids (plastic and metal- all sizes)

  • small plastic bottle caps (soda, juice, water, etc)

  • thin plastic bottles (water, juice, etc- all sizes)

  • egg cartons

  • milk/juice cartons

I would like to avoid glass and hard plastic such as laundry detergent containers, because it isn't easily cut.

I appreciate your support.

~Mrs. Bretsch
