As we approach the end of October, I would like to encourage families to check in with your children about their grades, goals, and progress. These conversations help students reflect on their strengths, identify areas for growth, and develop a plan to finish this first trimester strong. We truly appreciate your support at home and please don’t hesitate to reach out to our incredible teachers with any questions or concerns!

Before School Care
We are happy to announce the return of Elementary Morning Care! Morning Care will begin on Monday, November 10th. Drop off at 7:30 AM. A Message from Miss Johnston
At Sussex Academy, we believe every student has the potential to be a leader. This year, we are excited to build a culture of leadership in our middle school through a three-year journey implementing the Leader in Me framework. This program is designed to empower our students, teachers, and families to lead with purpose and confidence.
Based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Leader in Me helps students take ownership of their learning, set and achieve goals, collaborate effectively, and reflect on personal growth. Our goal is to nurture confidence, empathy, responsibility, and initiative.
As part of this work, we invite families to complete the Leader in Me Measurable Results Assessment (MRA) survey by November 19th. Your feedback will provide valuable baseline data to identify strengths and opportunities for growth in academics, leadership, and school culture for our middle school.

AP Exams
Students who are enrolled in a AP course trimester 1 MUST register for the exam no later than October 31 - this Friday!

Sussex Academy Athletics – Registration & Physicals Now Online
We’re excited to share that all athletic registrations and DIAA physical submissions will now be completed online through Snap Manage!

✅ What families need to know:
Every student-athlete must be registered in Snap Manage to participate.
Physicals must be uploaded online – paper copies will no longer be accepted.
You can register for Fall, Winter, and Spring sports at the same time.
After uploading, log back in within 1–3 days to confirm your physical has been marked “Approved.”
💡 Helpful Tips:
Registration is not complete until you receive a confirmation email from Snap Manage.
Uploads must be in PDF format (not photos).
Many parents find it easier to upload from a computer rather than a phone.
