DEER RUN PTO NEWSLETTER

We are thrilled to share that we have met and surpassed our 2025-26 Deer Run Run Fundraising goal! We are excited to use these funds to provide Deer Run with community events, school equipment, classroom supplies, teacher grants, field trips, and more!

Additionally, our students have earned a visit from the Columbus Zoo Animal Ambassadors program! (More details on that to come!)

THANK YOU to our teachers and administrators who worked with us and encouraged our students to participate, and to all of our Deer Run families who set up those fundraising pages and collected donations! We could not have done it without your support!!

Now is the fun part! Students will be running tomorrow (Friday, October 3rd) at the following times -

• 9:15-10:15 AM: Kindergarten and 1st Grade
• 10:05-11:05 AM: 2nd and 3rd Grade
• 1:25-2:25 PM: 4th and 5th Grade

Make sure your student wears their class colors and is ready to bring their spirit to the track! Parents are welcome to come out and cheer during the run! It will be a beautiful day on the Grizzell track - we'll see you there!

We are wrapping up our Deer Run Run Spirit week and food donation drive to support Feed The Kids - Columbus! Thank you for your participation this week!

Our fall PTO General Meeting will be - Monday, October 13th from 6:45 - 7:15pm in the DRE Commons.

All parents, guardians, and teachers are invited to attend as we discuss the PTO's plans for the coming year. We hope to see you there!

We are partnering with Papa Johns (7172 Muirfield Drive) for a fundraiser on Tuesday, October 14th. 20% of sales will be donated to the DRE PTO!

This year's Leeds Farm event will be Friday, October 24th! Join your Deer Run friends for an evening of fall fun, including hay rides, corn cribs, pedal carts, slides, and the popular pumpkin jump!

** Please note this is not a student drop off event. Parents/guardians must stay with their children for the entire event. **

Unfortunately we cannot allow last minute substitute volunteers in place of those signed up for parties if they have not completed the background check process. Thank you for your understanding. There is additional information on the background check process below, and please contact Mrs. Guthrie in the front office if you have any questions!

REMINDER: ALL parent/family members that wish to volunteer for the 2025-2026 school year will need to have a completed background check on file with the district. This will apply to classroom volunteers, PTO events, field trips and any other school event. This online process is quick, secure and free for applicants. Click button below to complete the process!

PLEASE NOTE: If any family member, other than a parent, is applying to volunteer please inform Carol Guthrie at guthrie_carol@dublinschools.net to ensure a timely approval!

CURRENT VOLUNTEERS: Be sure to double check the expiration date on your volunteer card. You cannot "renew" your card and instead must complete the background check process again before it expires. Thank you for attending to this well in advance of your volunteering date.

Are you willing to help the PTO on events throughout the year? "PTO Helping Hands" is a great way to get involved without making a long term commitment. If we are running short on volunteers for an event or have a small ask here or there, we will reach out to this list. Please sign up at the link below!

There are a number of after school classes available for our Deer Run students, including art, robotics, fashion, engineering, and drama - there is something for everyone! Visit this link for registration information!

Are you signed up for "Kroger Community Rewards"? With a few simple steps, you can link your Kroger Shop Card to Deer Run and a small donation will be made to our school every time you shop. It does not cost you anything and it does not pull from your rewards.

Follow these steps to sign up -

1. Sign in to your digital Kroger account on the app or your computer.
2. In the drop down on the left hand side, Find "Rewards", then select "Community Rewards". On the website, click on "My Account" under your name, and then select "Community Rewards".
3. Search for "Deer Run Elementary School", select, and click "Save". Your selected organization will now display in the Kroger Community Rewards section of your account.
