Springmill STEM Elementary

Dear Springmill STEM Parents and Families,
Our first 3 days back actually went very well. The big topic of conversation over the next couple of months is how to stay healthy! I've heard rumors of a super-flu going around that can take out whole families for 5 or 6 days. The best way to keep your family healthy is regular hand washing, getting plenty of rest, drinking water and eating nutritious foods. We encourage students to "cover the cough" with the inside of their elbow not their hands to reduce the spread of germs.
This week we do have our monthly 2 hour delay on Wednesday. Buses run on the 2 hour delay schedule and drop off begins at 10:35. Our 2nd Family Night is this week, as well! Thursday, December 15th from 5-6pm.
We will also begin our mid-year assessments to see how much our students have grown over the first semester. With this information, we decide who is ready to move on to more challenging work and who has some gaps that need to be filled before they move on. We will go over these results with you during our first set of conferences this winter.
You should have received your student's Report Card on Friday December 9th. If you have any questions about how we report your students progress on their report card, please reach out to the teacher.
Have a great week!
Yours,
Principal Cara Will
PBIS Incentive Days
We will be making up the 2nd Quarter PBIS Incentive day that we missed due to a snow day this Friday, January 16. Students will also be able to wear their PJs (which was the theme day for that day as well).
Our 3rd Quarter Incentive will be on March 12th and includes our Pi a Teacher Day! Students will buy tickets for a chance to throw a Whip Cream Pie in the face of a teacher of their choice. ONE lucky student will win a grand prize of SHAVING Mr. RiCHESON's HEAD!
*Students with 2 or more office referrals during the 3rd 9 weeks will not be able to purchase raffle tickets.
