Superintendent's Monday Magi Message
Happy Monday Magi Families
This week, students in grades K-10 dive into their final iReady diagnostic for the year. To ramp up the excitement, "Plory," one of the iReady characters, danced into the Colon Jr/Sr High School Assembly and showed students what one of the prizes may look like - a "pie-in-the-face" on me OR one of their teachers at an upcoming assembly. Not only was it fun to help in the demonstration, but I was thrilled when I shared the photo with my 8-year-old nephew, who lives on the east side of the state, and he knew EXACTLY who Plory was. He replied to my photo with: "Plory has you so cringe." I cannot think of a better reaction from an 8-year-old! 😅
The Student Engagement PLC put this all on and organized incentives for students! Plory also brought joy and excitement to recess and lunch at Colon Elementary School last week. Teachers gain valuable insights from these diagnostics, pinpointing areas for further growth ahead of state assessments and the next grade level. This data helps teachers and staff tailor support for each student. Our students have embraced iReady with remarkable adaptability, utilizing personalized learning pathways alongside exceptional classroom instruction from their dedicated teachers.
Your active involvement is key to their success! Dive into their iReady data regularly, engage in meaningful discussions, and watch their academic journey flourish with your support and encouragement! Wishing you, your families, and all members of our community a truly magical week ahead.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Kowalski

iReady Diagnostic 3 Is This Week for Grades K-10
Plory Visits CES!
Thursday, something magical happened at Colon Elementary during recess and lunchtime. Plory, the beloved iReady character, paid us a special visit to spread some motivation and excitement! Who is Plory, you ask? Plory is the cheerful iReady character who embodies perseverance, growth, and learning! Now, why is Plory's visit so significant? Well, it's because our students will take their iReady diagnostic tests next week. These tests are not just any ordinary assessments; they are invaluable tools that help tailor your child's learning experience to their unique needs and strengths.
It's crucial for parents to encourage their children to take these tests seriously. They provide valuable insights into their academic progress and areas where they can improve. With Plory's encouragement fresh in their minds, let's inspire our little ones to do their best and showcase their growth!
