Mr Lisseman - Headteacher

Dear Parents & Carers,

As we reach the final week before the half term break, there has been a real sense of reflection and celebration across Twickenham School.

Students took part in Achievement Award assemblies this week, recognising the hard work, effort and progress shown throughout the term. It is always a pleasure to celebrate the many successes of our students and the positive contributions they make to school life each day.

Meanwhile, GCSE examinations continue for our Year 11 students, who are conducting themselves brilliantly during this demanding time. Today marked their final official day at school before the exam season continues independently. Students took part in an incredibly emotional farewell assembly, reflecting on their five years at Twickenham School and the memories, friendships and experiences they have shared along the way.

It has been wonderful to see how much they have grown and developed into thoughtful, resilient and impressive young people. We are incredibly proud of them all and look forward to seeing all they go on to achieve in the future.

We wish all students and families a restful half term break and look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the final stretch of the academic year.

Student Bulletin Student Bulletin

Each Monday morning in tutor time, students and their form tutors review the weekly student bulletin. This is a round up of all the important information, notices and reminders that they need to know. The bulletin is also posted on the screens around school so they can refer back to it at any time.

Summer uniform Summer uniform

Mr Lisseman - Headteacher

When we return from the break, students may wear summer uniform. Jumpers and blazers will be optional, however students must continue to wear their uniform smartly, including ties done up properly and shirts tucked in.

If the weather becomes exceptionally hot, parents and carers will be informed if students are permitted to wear their PE kit for the day to help keep everyone comfortable in the heat.

Thank you for your continued support in maintaining high standards of uniform and presentation.

A Message from the PTA A Message from the PTA

The Friends of Twickenham School

Katherine, Tracey and Sarah were really pleased to be able offer refreshments to so many parents, visitors and pupils during Twickenham's got Talent on Friday night. It was a brilliant event and we were all really impressed by the pupils performances on stage and their helpful, respectful behaviour off stage. As ever, it is really nice for the Friends of Twickenham School to support events like this and we hope to be able to do so even more in the future. They are really enjoyable and a great way to get more involved with our school community.

A huge thank you to Claire (a year 11 mum) who gathered a lovely selection of prizes for the Twickenham's got talent raffle. We hope all the winners enjoyed their prizes!

We hope to be taking part in some of the transition events which are coming up too - if you are lucky enough to be off on Mondays or have a flexible role which means you may be available to meet new parents and pupils during the afternoon of the 6th July then please get in touch with us via twickenhamschoolpta@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone who has already donated 2nd hand uniform but we are still looking for more. If your year 11 has no siblings or Spring weather has resulted in a growth spurt but your child's uniform is still in good condition then please get your child to bring it to the school office so we can organise our sale.

Finally, please check your availability to help with rugby car parking on Saturday 20th June Everyone who helps comments on how enjoyable it is and without these days we would not be able to fund the enrichment trips.

Ms Green - Head of Drama

Last week’s Twickenham’s Got Talent was a brilliant evening full of creativity, confidence, and unforgettable performances, with the winners decided by our judging panel.

There were so many fantastic acts, and we are incredibly proud of every student who took to the stage. It takes real bravery to get on stage in front of hundreds of audience members.

🎭 Third place went to Edith for her creative Shakespeare mash-up drama performance.

🎹 Second place was awarded to Yesha, who performed a beautiful piano solo while singing along.

🎤 The audience vote went to Oyinda who wowed the crowd with her incredible voice singing a song from Wicked.

But the overall winner was Muhammad, whose comedy sketch about a parents’ evening at school had the entire audience crying with laughter. His confidence, timing and humour made for a truly unforgettable performance.

A huge well done to all the acts who took part. The talent and effort on display made it such a special night for everyone involved.

Muhammad's tutor class of 7P are so proud of him!

Well done Year 7! Well done Year 7!

Ms Cutting - Head of Year 7

As we reach the end of another fantastic half term, it is hard to believe that Year 7 are already approaching the final part of their first year with us. It feels like only yesterday that they were arriving in September, finding their way around, meeting new teachers and settling into secondary school life. Since then, they have grown in confidence, embraced new opportunities and achieved so much across the school.

This half term alone has seen success in the Maths Challenge, wonderful performances from the Year 7 Band, strong participation in the Barometer Tutor Challenges, excellent attendance, sporting achievements, Teaching and Learning Awards, impressive assessment results and enjoyable reward trips. We are also incredibly proud of the students who have been selected for Transition Ambassador training. These students, chosen for their attendance, behaviour and improvements across different areas of school life, will become Year 7 student leaders, helping to host Year 5 open days, Year 6 taster days and primary school visits next half term. It has been wonderful to see so many students getting involved, trying new things and representing the year group so positively.

There is already so much to celebrate, and with the summer term still ahead of us, I know there is even more to come. Well done, Year 7!

Ms Wilson - School librarian

A huge thank you to all the parents who have already purchased a book. We are so grateful for your generosity.

To celebrate the National Year of Reading, we’re inviting parents and carers to support our school library by purchasing a book from our library wish list. Each book bought goes directly into our collection, helping to inspire a lifelong love of reading.

Your generosity will make a real difference, giving students access to exciting new stories, information books, and authors they might not otherwise discover.

Every book donated is enjoyed by many students for years to come – a lasting gift that supports learning, imagination, and a vibrant reading culture across the school.

The books on the Wish List are all available for donation and many of them will also earn us 20p in extra free books for every £1 you spend.

If you decide to order something from the list, you can do so securely online directly from Scholastic and your donation will be delivered directly to school.

Thank you for helping us make reading flourish this year and beyond.
