The Blueprint in Action focus for the months of January, February, and March is Literacy Proficiency. During these months we will be spotlighting how our schools are empowering our students through literacy. Learn more about the critical role of early literacy in child development.

Gwinnett County Public Schools GCPS is actively working to increase awareness among families and staff about the importance of literacy, supporting opportunities to strengthen students' reading skills, and emphasizing the science of reading.

Each year, to help improve our schools, Gwinnett County Public Schools collects feedback from families, students, and staff members about their school experiences. This year, the school district is giving Educational Effectiveness Surveys to gather feedback on nine key characteristics of high-performing schools.

• The Student Survey is open February 3-28 for students in grades 3-12 during the school day and is available in the Student Portal. (Students in grade 3 will only take the Wellness screener.)
• The Family survey is open through March 7. The link was emailed to families on February 3.

The survey — available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese — is available through ParentVUE and on the district website.

Friendly Reminder: Due to multiple digital learning days (DLD) in January caused by inclement weather, February 7, 2025, will be an in-person school day instead of a DLD. On February 7, students and staff should report to school and work as usual.
