Here are the updates for the week:

• Next week we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week with daily dress-up themes that highlight making good choices. Please see the flyer below for each day’s theme so you can plan ahead.

• Spirit wear ordering closes this week, so please place your order before the window ends.

• Our Dad’s Club will host another Movie Night on Friday, have your student vote for the film below.

• Looking ahead to Halloween, our parade will take place on the new blacktop. Parking is very limited, so please plan to arrive early, or park off site and walk. Please also note that Friday, October 31, is an additional minimum day.

• Finally, a small but happy modernization update, our project managers opened the new field today and students loved being back on the grass. It is a small space, and we are grateful to have it.

Red Ribbon Spirit Week is October 27-31. On Friday, October 31, we will have our costume parade and students may wear their costume.

Students must adhere to our dress code guidelines and following these additional guidelines:

• Masks or make-up that conceal the entire face or prevent staff from identifying students are not allowed
• Weapons, pretend or real, are not allowed including but not limited to guns, knives, swords, sabers, etc.
• Costumes must be school-appropriate, may not depict or promote violence, weapons, drugs, or alcohol, and should not be overly scary.
• Costumes that may offend others due to race, culture, gender, religion, or sexual orientation are not permitted
• Costume should not include items with sound effects, lights, or other components which would disrupt the classroom learning environment
• Blow up costumes are only permitted during the parade, but not in the classroom.
• And finally, costumes must not inhibit the ability of a student to participate fully in all classes

On Friday, October 31, there is an additional minimum day with dismissal at 11:55a.

The 2026–27 Choice priority enrollment window opens Monday, Sept. 22, through Nov. 3, 2025. The Choice Program allows families to apply for schools beyond their neighborhood.

Families applying during the priority window have the best chance to secure one of their top three school choices. Multilingual support is also available through the Family Welcome and Enrollment Center at (619) 260-2410.

Current Hardy students on Choice, who will remain at Hardy, do not need to apply.

If your student is home sick, please notify the front office by phone or by completing the REPORT AN ABSENCE form.
