What a fun and full short week we've had here at Kegonsa! Each grade-level's student of the month got to join me for Lunch with the Principal—one of my favorite ways to connect with our amazing students. We also wrapped up Forward state testing, and I’m so proud of everyone for their focus and effort.

Bridging Brighter Smiles was here for their spring visit, leaving lots of sparkling clean teeth around the building. Our second graders had a blast on their field trip to Texas Roadhouse, and we ended the week with a high-energy all-school assembly, “Project Energy,” which had us all engaged and moving!

We started the week with cold, windy weather, and are wrapping it up with clouds, but spring temps—just in time for a little rain over the weekend. A quick reminder that there will be no school on Friday, April 18 or Monday, April 20. We’ll see everyone back on Tuesday, April 21.

Wishing you a relaxing long weekend and hopefully a little sunshine! 💙 Erin

Watts the Buzz at Kegonsa? A Visit from the National Theater for Children! ⚡ Watts the Buzz at Kegonsa? A Visit from the National Theater for Children! ⚡

Yesterday, our gym was transformed into the bustling streets of Eco Town as we welcomed the National Theater for Children and their electrifying performance of Project Energy!

With humor, mystery, and just the right spark of science, two talented actors lit up the stage—introducing us to the legendary detective duo Sure Luck Ohms and Junior Undersecretary Detective-in-Training Wattson. (Try saying that three times fast!) Together with our students, they cracked the case on energy waste and uncovered how small actions can make a BIG impact.

It was a high-voltage adventure full of laughter, learning, and lightbulb moments 💡. We learned to “Save a Watt, Save a LOT,” and had a blast doing it!
