Grades 3-5 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs)
The Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs) are annual tests in reading, mathematics, and science, based on Minnesota Academic Standards, to measure what students should know at each grade level. All students in Minnesota districts and charter schools take the MCAs, with reading and math tests given in grades 3–8 and high school (grade 10 for reading, grade 11 for math), and the science test administered in grades 5, 8, and in high school when students take a life science or biology course. The MCAs are primarily taken online, though some students with an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) or 504 plan may use a paper version.
MCA Testing will take place at Roosevelt in April. Please see the testing dates below for your child's grade level. More specific information will come from your child's teacher as the testing window approaches.
3, 4, 5 Grade Reading: April 14-17
3, ,4, 5 Grade Math: April 21-24
5th Grade Science: April 29 and 30
You can help your child be successful by ensuring they get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and encouraging them to do their best!

Grocery Receipts = Cash for Roosevelt
When the cashier asks you if you want your receipt, say yes! There are two very simple ways to raise money for Roosevelt Elementary using receipts:
Hy-Vee’s Cash 4 Kids program gives schools a percentage of the receipts (except Hy-Vee gas stations) collected throughout the school year. Save those Hy-Vee receipts and drop them to the office or send them with your students.
BoxTops for Education has changed over the last few years and the program is digital now. Download the App and begin scanning your grocery receipts. Pro-tip: scan all your receipts even if you aren’t sure you purchased a boxtop product, you might be surprised!
