South Grove News

Celebration of America: Our Kindergarten students led a heartwarming “Celebration of America” performance, a long-standing SG tradition that honors national holidays and introduces our youngest learners to the symbols and values that shape our country. What makes this event especially meaningful is the presence of members from the American Legion and VFW, who join us for the celebration. Their attendance once again brought a powerful, real-life connection to the themes of service and sacrifice that our students are learning about. Our students saluted and sang directly to these local heroes in a heartfelt tribute leading into Memorial Day weekend.

Spring Concert: Bravo to our music team for orchestrating the largest student ensemble in SG history! As shared, an incredible 90% of students in grades 3–5 voluntarily participate in our music program- a testament to our students’ enthusiasm and our staff’s dedication.

Staff Appreciation Week: Our SG MVPs were treated to a “game-day” themed luncheon, full of puns and positivity! Huge thanks to our PTA for making us feel valued; we truly “play our hearts out” for the SG students each and every day. (Speaking of appreciating staff, congrats to the newest tenure recipients who were honored at the most recent BOE meeting- Mrs. Berwick, Mr. Mercieca, and Mrs. Nuzzolese!)

Class Placement Input Letters: As noted in my message on May 13th, parent input letters for class placement are due by May 30th. Please note that letters submitted after this date cannot be considered.

Early Morning Bus & Programming: The final day for early morning buses for extra help is June 18th. Please note: Currently, there is NO morning programming for chorus, band, or orchestra.

5th Grade Moving Up Ceremony: Our 5th grade ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 24 at 10:00 AM. Ticketing details will be shared with 5th grade families soon. To help reduce traffic and parking congestion, we kindly ask that non-5th grade families avoid visiting campus during this time unless absolutely necessary.
