CSD Weekly Update

Centennial School District Celebrating Veterans Day!
Centennial School District held multiple Veteran’s Day ceremonies across all their schools to honor those in the community, and within the schools, who have served.
The district’s schools hosted a variety of events, including assemblies, musical performances, and presentations highlighting the meaning of Veterans Day and the importance of honoring all who have served.
Centennial also celebrated staff and faculty members who have served in the military. Students created beautiful art and banners of appreciation, and school bands and choirs performed patriotic songs to mark the occasion.
Superintendent, Dr. Lucabaugh shared, “To our veterans and your families, on behalf of our school district, thank you. Your strength, courage, and devotion to our nation inspires us. To our students and staff, may this day serve as a reminder to live everyday with gratitude, striving to be worthy of the freedoms that so many brave men and women fought to protect.””
The district extends sincere thanks to all veterans for their dedication, bravery, and sacrifice in defending the freedoms we cherish.
Klinger Middle School Hosts Inspiring Documentary Screening and Panel Discussion on Women in Sports
Last night, Klinger Middle School hosted a screening of the powerful documentary film See Her, Be Her, followed by an engaging panel discussion about women in sports, grassroots baseball, and equality in athletics.
About the Film
See Her, Be Her follows the lives of seven exceptional women baseball stars representing the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Japan, South Korea, Cuba, and Uganda as they compete at the pinnacle of their game for the World Cup Championship. These athletes battle not only for victory—for themselves, their teams, and their countries—but also for the sheer love of the game. Their greatest triumph, however, is the path they are blazing for future generations of female players.
The documentary celebrates the legacy of women in baseball, from the players immortalized in Penny Marshall's A League of Their Own to today's most talented female athletes, showcasing the very real possibility that a woman will one day make her major league debut. Following its successful premiere on MLB Network, the film is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Founded by Grassroots Baseball®, the See Her, Be Her movement has expanded beyond baseball to include women's hockey, telling stories from frozen ponds to the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) and beyond.
The movement's mission is clear: creating opportunities by empowering communities to champion women's sports through storytelling, advocacy, and visibility. As Grassroots Baseball and See Her, Be Her co-founder Jean Fruth says, "Every young girl who wants to play needs to see there's a place for her in the game. Through storytelling, we can open doors, change perspectives, and inspire inclusion."
Community Celebration
The evening brought together students, parents, community members, and district leadership for a meaningful conversation about the future of athletics. Our distinguished panel included Claire Smith, Dickie Noles, Monica Clark, Sabrina Robinson, Erin Nunes Cooper, and Beth Devine, who shared their wisdom and experiences regarding athletes and the grassroots baseball movement. As panelist Sabrina Robinson eloquently stated, "It's no longer about boys and girls or women and men in sports. It's about athletes."
Gratitude
This memorable event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of many dedicated individuals:
We extend our sincere appreciation to producer Jeff Idelson and director Jean Fruth for bringing this incredible story to our community. Special thanks to our Home and School Association for sponsoring the event and providing dinner for our panelists.
We are grateful to Mrs. Cindi Korger and Mrs. Sherri Barrett for serving as emcees and coordinating all the logistics to bring this program to Centennial. Thank you to our student and adult volunteers who welcomed guests and assisted with parking, and to building substitute Mr. Jim Peiffer for his continued support.
Our appreciation extends to Athletic Director Mr. Dave Jones and wrestling coaches Mr. Mike Scancella and Mrs. Caitlin Dormish for their attendance and their work promoting girls' wrestling, as well as to all coaches in the Centennial community who promote athletics for every student.
We were honored to have Superintendent Dr. Abram Lucabaugh, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Michael Zackon, and School Board members Dr. Maguire and Mrs. Crossan join us for this important event. Thank you to Communications Specialist Mr. Christopher Sanchez-Peralta for his excellent work promoting the program, and Mrs. Ann Smith for ensuring it streamed without a glitch.
Most importantly, thank you to all the parents, guardians, community members, and students who attended—you are the future of athletics in Centennial, our nation, and the world.

ACADEMICS
Dear Centennial School District Families,
We deeply value you and your family as partners in your child’s education and overall well-being. As part of our commitment to creating safe, supportive, and healthy learning environments, Centennial School District will participate in the 2025 Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS) this fall. The PAYS is a confidential survey that asks students about their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to topics such as school climate, mental health, family and peer relationships, and the risk and protective factors that influence youth decision-making.
The PAYS is sponsored and conducted by the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency. Administered every two years statewide, the survey provides data that help schools and communities guide prevention efforts, improve student supports, and strengthen programs designed to keep young people healthy, safe, and thriving. You can request a list of the survey questions by visiting this link: https://epis.psu.edu/PAYS/question. For more information about the survey, including a list of Frequently Asked Questions, please visit www.pays.pa.gov. More information about the survey and the most recent data for our county can be found on the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission website.
Centennial Survey Window: November 12–26, 2025
Centennial Students Participating: Students currently enrolled in Grades 8, 10, and 12
Centennial Administration Format: Confidential online survey completed during the Social Studies class (approximately 30–40 minutes)
Participation is voluntary, and all student responses are anonymous—no names or identifying information are collected. Results are reported only in combined form and are used to identify trends, secure prevention funding, and develop targeted programs and supports for youth.
We encourage participation, as the insights from this survey help us better understand and respond to the needs of our students and community. However, families who prefer to opt their child out may do so by completing this brief opt-out form by Friday, November 7, 2025 (by 4:00 PM).
Thank you for supporting this important effort to improve the health, safety, and well-being of Centennial students. If you have any questions, please contact us at 215-441-6000, ext. 11006.
Sincerely,
Althea Tomlinson

William Tennent Chorale Performs for St. Robert’s Experienced Persons
On Tuesday, November 11, the William Tennent High School Chorale performed for the Experienced Persons (EP’s) group at St. Robert’s in Warrington. In honor of Veterans Day, the ensemble opened with a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem and took a moment to recognize and thank the veterans in attendance for their service. The program continued with festive holiday carols and selections from the Chorale’s upcoming winter concert, spreading cheer and showcasing the students’ talent and dedication. It was a wonderful afternoon of music, gratitude, and community connection.
Service & Love In Action
When service comes from the heart, it clearly shows! WT’s student-led Bible Study Club organized and led a successful Operation Christmas Child project to help children across the globe. Students personally donated items, gathered contributions from students and staff, and packed 27 shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, personal care items, and personalized notes of encouragement. A heartfelt thank-you to all who gave and served alongside them!
Climate/Culture Surveys
The Climate & Culture Survey (November 12-26) will be open to students, families, and staff members to assess key aspects of school life, including topics such as school climate and safety. More details about this will be shared closer to the survey window.
The survey data will help us identify effective school and district practices as well as gauge your child’s growth toward the PA Career Ready Skills. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 215-441-6000 X11026.
TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
Please be aware that billing for intentional device damage has begun. Students will not be able to participate in end-of-year activities (i.e., field trips, school dances, graduation, etc.) if they have an outstanding balance in Skyward Q.
Families can review our district's 1:1 Device Agreement, which includes prices for technology repairs, on our CSD website.

Hello, Parents and Guardians, and Welcome Back to Another School Year!
