π The Roots of Doris Hoffman
This week at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center, we continue growing the roots of patience as our Little Indians practice slowing down, taking turns, and working through everyday moments with care.
In early childhood, patience is often built through routines and relationships β waiting for a friend to finish with a toy, listening while someone else is speaking, or trying a task again with encouragement from a teacher. These small moments help children learn that good things sometimes take time and that growth happens step by step.
Our classrooms are full of opportunities for children to practice patience through play, transitions, and problem-solving with peers. With gentle guidance, they are learning how to manage frustration, express their feelings, and keep trying even when something feels hard.
You may notice this growth at home in simple ways β waiting more calmly, asking for help, or showing understanding with siblings and family members.
Together, we are helping our children develop strong hearts, steady minds, and the confidence to keep growing each day.

π€Character Corner
This week, our Little Indians are continuing to strengthen patience as they learn that waiting, listening, and trying again are all important parts of growing.
In the classroom, patience is showing up in meaningful ways β waiting in line, sharing materials with friends, taking turns during games, and staying calm during transitions. These everyday moments help children build self-control and learn how to manage big feelings in positive ways.
You can help grow patience at home by:
β Playing simple turn-taking games like Candy Land, Go Fish, or a matching game
𧩠Encouraging your child to finish a puzzle or task before moving to something new
π¬ Using encouraging words such as βYou waited so patientlyβ or βIβm proud of how calmly you handled thatβ
The patience children practice now helps build confidence, resilience, and kindness that will support them in all areas of life.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we help our Little Indians grow strong hearts and strong character. π

As we close out another wonderful week at Doris Hoffman Early Learning Center, we are so proud of the growth we continue to see in our Little Indians. This monthβs focus on patience is showing up in so many meaningful ways β from waiting with kindness, to working through challenges, to showing understanding with friends.
With exciting spring activities ahead, including Field Day this Friday, our students are also learning how to manage anticipation and excitement while continuing to practice calm bodies, kind words, and flexible thinking. These are such important life skills, and we love watching them grow each day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. The encouragement you provide at home, combined with the care and consistency at school, helps our children build strong roots for lifelong learning.
Wishing your family a wonderful week ahead!
