Cubs Newsletter

There is no school for students on Monday.

Thank you to parents that brought goodies for our teachers and to the PST for bringing in lunch. We are grateful for the food, but it is your thoughtfulness we appreciate the most.

Thank you to Ms. Wallen and her World Cultures class for the wonderful "Haiti Night" event. The students did a great job planning and running the event and were so excited to share what they have learned about the Haitian culture and the needs of the Haitian people with the community. Thank you to all of you who attended and helped.

Thank you to Ms. Bird and her amazing cast of actors. Their performance of "Twice Upon a Time" was so funny and so well done!

Thank you to Ms. Godfrey for taking 45 students to WSU for Engineering Day. The scientists at WSU were very impressed with our students. They were especially impressed with the higher level questions our students asked and their genuine curiosity. Go Cubs!

Due to some just announced changes to the National Spelling Bee schedule, we have had to hustle to change our school Spelling Bee date. We will have the here at MMS in the library on January 28th. Students that will represent their classrooms will compete to attend the regional Spelling Bee. Let the studying begin!

Semester one is done! Teachers have been working on grading today and all grades will be finalized and "stored" in PowerSchool on Monday morning. At that time, our amazing office ladies will start printing report cards. You can expect those to arrive in the mail by next week at this time.

Students were issued their new Semester 2 class schedules on Thursday. Sometimes schedules change, and sometimes they don't, but most students (especially 7th and 8th graders) will have a slightly different schedule starting on Tuesday.
