A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
As we head into Thanksgiving Break, we want to extend our gratitude for your continued partnership and support this school year. Our students have been working hard, and we are proud of the growth we are seeing each day. We look forward to connecting with you during conferences on Monday to share your child’s progress and celebrate their achievements. We hope your family enjoys a restful and joyful break filled with time together. Thank you for all you do to make our school community such a warm and supportive place to learn.
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody
Principal
Our second graders enjoyed a special visit from a Fremont Board Member, Shawn Killackey, who shared the history of the Village of Mundelein. Students learned about local people, places, and events, and had a fun chance to explore the community they call home!

Arrival Request
We've noticed that the Kindergarten hallway gets very crowded, especially with all the wonderful winter coats, and it can be overwhelming for our youngest students.
To help us create a calm start to the day for our Kindergarten friends, please ask your 1st and 2nd graders to avoid the Kindergarten hallways and go directly to their classrooms. Avoiding the Kindergarten wing in the morning will help us keep the flow steady and safe for everyone.
Thank you so much for your partnership in making every morning a great one!

Every Day Matters
NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)
Three times a year we assess our students to see where they are on their personal learning path. We look for what supports or enrichments they may need. We will be continuing our use of the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test for all students. This is an untimed, computer based test that individually adjusts as a student answers the questions. As they answer correctly, the questions get harder. The Winter Session will begin Monday, December 8.
Chicago Wolves Reading Challenge
The Chicago Wolves Reading Challenge begins TODAY! All Kindergarten through 8th-grade students can participate. Students can earn a FREE TICKET to any Chicago Wolves home game by reading 400 minutes from November 14- January 7. Once completed, fill out the Google form and a ticket order form will be sent home. The Google form is due by Wednesday, January 7. If you have any questions, please contact Rachal Swiderski, rswiderski@fsd79.org.
See the attached flyer for more information and a reading log to keep track of minutes. Have fun reading!
Parent Teacher Conferences - November 24
Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for November 24th and the scheduling conference links are now closed. Any changes or cancellations needed will need to be made thru the teacher. Please email your homeroom teacher for specific questions regarding conferences. For any additional questions, please email cjohnson@fsd79.org.
Ode to Fremont ES Lost and Found
Down the hall beneath the lunchroom, a corner softly hums—
A heap of coats and sweatshirts waits for someone who never comes.
Brand-new jackets with no names, sneakers split in two,
Lunchboxes and water bottles dream of kids they knew.
Each week brings the teacher’s call: “Come look before you go!”
But the pile keeps on growing still, a gentle, rumpled show.
Please ask your students to visit the lost and found to look for any lost items. These items are on display in front of the lunchroom. Please also stop by during conferences. We ask that you also write your child's name on anything they might remove during the school day. Anything left in lost and found will be donated during Winter Break.
Free Books for Families!
On November 24th during student conferences, families are invited to stop by our book table in the front entrance hallway to pick out some free books to enjoy at home! If you’re interested, please bring a small bag to carry your selections. We can’t wait to help you find some great new reads!
