Greetings Hembree Families,

What an exciting week we've had! Thursday night’s Talent Show was a spectacular success, with our staff and students dazzling us with their passions outside the classroom. I couldn't stop smiling at all the amazing performances. A huge shout out to Jenny Soberanis and Lise Tejada for their months of hard work to bring this event to life. Your dedication is truly appreciated!

Hembree Students Named Finalists in State PTA Reflections Contest Hembree Students Named Finalists in State PTA Reflections Contest

A huge congratulations to two Hembree Springs students who made it to the Georgia State Level of the PTA Reflections Program! The announcement was made Monday by Georgia PTA.

Landon Peters, 1st grade, won for his musical piece, titled "What Makes Me Special." He wrote and sang the words, using only a stick for rhythm. Here's his summary he wrote:

"This is a song called 'What Makes Me Special.' I wanted to try my best so I made this song. I have the best family in the world and they are special too."

In pre-K, student Luke Lee won for his piece in the Dance Choreography category. In his description, Luke said moving "helps me get my stuck words out, (overcoming a stutter) so I move even though my dancing is imperfect."

Each winner was gifted a Crayola art case from the PTA.

This year's theme for the PTA Reflections Program was "Accepting Imperfection." Winners on the National Level will be announced May 1.

Counselor's Corner Counselor's Corner

Hello Parents,

As we move into spring, it's a great time to check in on your child's well-being and academic progress. Here are a few tips to support them through the remainder of the school year:

✅Encourage a Growth Mindset - Remind your child that mistakes are part of learning. Praise their effort, persistence, and problem-solving skills.

✅Maintain Consistent Routines - With spring break and warmer weather approaching, routines can get disrupted. Keeping a regular schedule for homework, bedtime, and screen time helps children stay on track.

✅Talk About Feelings - Ask open-ended questions about their day. Help them name their emotions and find positive ways to express them.

✅Teach Healthy Coping Skills - Deep breathing, journaling, physical activity, and creative outlets can help children manage stress.

✅Stay Engaged with School - Check in with teachers, review homework together, and encourage your child to participate in school activities. Your involvement shows them that education is a priority.

If you have any concerns or need additional support, feel free to reach out. Wishing your family a wonderful and successful March!

Warmly,

Shannon Reynolds

Específicamente, el Consejo de Gobierno Escolar tiene las siguientes facultades:

• Gestionar el proceso de Solicitud de Flexibilidad

• Aprobar las recomendaciones presupuestarias anuales y las asignaciones pertinentes

Have you heard your child mention anything about an app called Beanstack? It was introduced in the Media Center. Beanstack is a digital reading log that students can use to log the number of minutes they are reading. They can earn badges and rewards along the way. If your child is reading at school, home, daycare, etc. they can log their minutes and help us get closer to our goal. The following is a video explaining how to use Beanstack from home. You can always find your child's lunch number/student number in infinite campus or email Mrs. Soberanis: soberanis@fultonschools.org. Happy Reading!
