Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another busy and exciting week at Larks Hill, with a wide range of activities, events and opportunities taking place across school.

This Week This Week

KS2 PAT Games Cross Country Event

On Thursday evening, 38 of our KS2 pupils proudly represented Larks Hill at the first Cross Country competition of the academic year, held at The King’s School. The turnout from families across the Trust was fantastic, and we are especially grateful for the wonderful support shown by our parents and carers. We were really impressed by the effort and sportsmanship shown by all our pupils, with many of them finishing in medal positions - including several 1st, 2nd and 3rd place results! They are a real credit to our school.

European Day of Languages

Today, the whole school took part in European Day of Languages, celebrating the rich diversity of languages spoken across Europe. Classes explored common greetings and useful phrases in different languages, identified national flags and took part in a range of engaging activities throughout the day.

Gardening Club

Our new Gardening Club has also been hard at work this week, preparing the school’s flower beds for the seasons ahead. Pupils planted onions and garlic, which may be used in baking activities later in the year, and added daffodil bulbs to brighten up our grounds in the spring.

Student Roles

This week, Miss Thorley has also formed a new Eco Team. Their first project will involve carrying out an environmental audit of our school site, with the aim of identifying ways we can make our school even more sustainable in the future.

In addition, our Reading Ambassadors have now applied for their new roles and will soon be meeting with me to plan how they can further promote reading at home and support younger readers across the school.

MCAS Messaging Fault MCAS Messaging Fault

We have been made aware that some parents are not receiving emails via MCAS. This appears to be only affecting iPhone users. MCAS are aware of the issue and have assured us that they are working on the problem. We will keep you updated as and when we know more. In the meantime, we will be sharing all school wide communications via Class Dojo.
