Summer Teen Job Readiness Workshop
StepUp Wilmington has officially partnered with Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) to host our Teen Job Readiness Workshop this summer!
It’s a 2.5-day interactive experience focused on helping teens build confidence, gain real-world skills, and get prepared for whatever comes next. This is the same free program structure we’ve been running, but now in an even better space right down the road at CFCC downtown!
What students can expect:
Resume building and interview practice
Confidence, professionalism, and communication skill development
Guest speakers and connections with local employers/colleges
Career exploration, no matter their next step (career, college, military, etc.)
A fun, engaging environment with teens from across the area
After completing the course: continued professional support & mentoring, possible financial assistance to upskill, and real world next steps/connections (job shadowing, internships, etc.)
Lunch and snacks are provided each day!
Details:
Open to ages 16-19 (just need to be 16 by the class start date)
Two sessions available: June 23-25th or July 14-16th
100% FREE!!!
When registering, students will be asked to select that they qualify for a waiver. EVERYONE qualifies for this waiver- so select "YES". They can select any option, it’s simply a formality. No SSN is required.
Spots are very limited, so we encourage students to sign up as soon as possible!
CIEE College First Year Abroad
National College Decision Day was May 1, and it just got a whole lot easier for students! With CIEE College First Year Abroad, their first semester of college could cost them just $8,080.
This special anniversary rate includes room and board for either the Fall 2026 or Fall 2027 semester, a 12-14 credit-bearing course load delivered by CIEE and/or Arizona State University Online, and application/ resume-boosting opportunities that today’s competitive world demands.
Apply by the June 1 deadline for the Fall 2026 semester.
