First 6th Grade Townhall
On Friday, we had our first townhall meeting!
This townhall, we were informing all 6th graders on what being a Nichols scholar looks like.
I reviewed the R.O.A.R. expectations.
R - Responsibility
O - Owning Safety
A - Attitude is Positive
R - Respect
We reviewed what that looks like throughout the day and in each space.
Our first priority is to ensure that your child is safe physically, emotionally and socially.
Each month, we will have townhall meetings featuring students of the month.
We have a monthly character trait that we will focus on.
Teachers nominate a student in their classroom that exemplifies this character trait.
Celebrating our students is what we love to do at Nichols!
We also introduced our F.A.C.E liaisons.
F - Family
A - And
C - Community
E - Engagement
Please view their introductions in the PDF below to learn more about them.
You will get the opportunity to meet them during curriculum night in September.
They are an incredible addition to our team.

Encourage your child to do their best.
Please ensure that their iPads are charged so they will not have technology issues while testing.
We use this data to determine how to best support your child.
Our school work plan goals that we presented to the school board on August 14th included our goals for students who meet their growth targets and students who are meeting and exceeding grade level.
Last year, in reading we had 75% of our students being proficient and exceeding grade level.
In math, we had 65% of our students being proficient and exceeding grade level.
We plan to LEVEL UP this year!!!
Our goal is to have 78% proficiency in reading and 68% proficiency in math.
We use our Fall Map scores as our starting point. By spring, we hope to hit our goal targets!
I want to keep you informed of our academic goals because educating your child is a team effort.
There is nothing that can not be accomplished when all parties work together towards a common goal!
