2025-2026 School Memo
P.S 219: THE KENNEDY KING SCHOOL
ARRIVAL + DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Effective: September 9, 2025
📢 Arrival & Dismissal Update – Effective September 9, 2025
Greetings P.S. 219 Families,
Thank you for helping us begin the school year with such a smooth and positive start! Your patience, grace, and partnership are truly appreciated as we work together to ensure a safe and successful year for every scholar. We are grateful for your support and extend warm wishes for a wonderful year ahead for the entire P.S. 219 community.
Reminder: Arrival & Dismissal Location
All arrivals and dismissals will now take place inside the school building, not in the schoolyard.
This will be our everyday routine moving forward.
Arrival Procedures
Grades K–5:
Scholars may enter the building as early as 7:30 AM through the Main Entrance for breakfast.
Breakfast is optional, not mandatory.
If scholars are not participating in Breakfast, they enter the building at 8:00 AM where teachers will be picking up from the cafeteria at 8:00am to transition to class.
Please note: Scholars independently transition to the cafeteria from the lobby. Staff will be present to assist as scholars are still learning the building.
3K & Pre-K:
Arrival is at 8:00 AM sharp in the Auditorium.
Per NYC DOE policy, 3K & PK scholars are not permitted to enter before 8:00 AM.
Dismissal Procedures
All grades: Dismissal takes place in the Auditorium at 2:10 PM sharp and ends promptly at 2:20 PM.
Late Pick-Up:
After 2:20 PM, dismissal is managed by support staff as teachers’ contractual day has ended.
Families will need to wait in line for late pick-up, and sign out for your scholar. Once sign out has occurred, shift to the left for your scholar to be dismissed to you.
To avoid delays, please arrive on time. If late pick-up is unavoidable, we ask for your continued patience as we are doing our best to accommodate late pick up as school has ended.
Photo Identification Requirement
Photo ID is required daily for scholar pick-up.
Please ensure you have it ready to help avoid delays.
Closing Note
We are off to a strong start, and that is because of you. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. With your continued support, we know this will be an excellent year for P.S. 219 scholars and families!
Thank you for your support and cooperation!
Warmly,
Principal Williams
