Safety Reminder

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we implemented our new Access Control System (Buzz-in Door). The safety of our school is always a top priority for us.

As a gentle reminder, ALL doors will be locked at 7:45 am and visitors will be required to “buzz in” to gain access to the building through a closed circuit monitoring system. After 7:45 am, parents are required to walk students in the building, as you will need enter though the new Buzz-in System. Thank you again for your cooperation as we continue to keep everyone safe.

DID YOU KNOW??

Making a threat — whether in person, through a telephone call, a text message, an email or even a social media post — could mean a criminal offense for a student because of a relatively new law. In May of 2018, an amendment to the S.C. Code of Laws created the new crime “Student Threats” (Section 16-17-425).

As school officials, we must report any student threat and investigate. Your child’s safety is too important for us to risk assuming someone is joking or that it is just kids being kids.
