Principal's Message Principal's Message

Assalamu Alaikum!

Dear NISL Families,

Thank you to all of our families who attended the Parent-Teacher Conferences on February 19 and 20. These conferences are such an important part of supporting each child’s growth and strengthening our school-home partnership. We truly value your involvement. We would appreciate your feedback as we continue to improve. Please take a few minutes to complete the short survey linked below. Your input helps us strengthen communication and collaboration between home and school.

Parent/Teacher Conference - Feedback Survey

Please complete the survey by Sunday, February 22.

As a reminder, our In-School Science Fair Award Ceremony will be held on Monday, February 23 immediately following Dhuhr prayer, around 2:00pm. Parents are welcome to join us in the masjid. We look forward to celebrating our students’ hard work, and results will also be shared in our next newsletter.

We would also like to inform you of two important updates:

First, students are no longer permitted to order DoorDash, Uber Eats, or any other food delivery services to the school. Despite having procedures in place, orders often did not arrive on time for lunch, and we have ongoing safety concerns regarding delivery drop-off locations and outside personnel accessing the building. For the safety and well-being of our students, this practice has been discontinued.

Parents are always welcome to drop off lunches at the main office before lunchtime, as usual.

Additionally, due to increasing concerns about cell phone and device use during the school day, students will not be allowed to use personal devices, including cellphones and tablets, during lunch and recess. We want this time to be focused on social interaction, play, and physical activity.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe, focused, and healthy school environment.

Sincerely,

Aisha Blagaia

Principal

Sr. Nour and her team of student leaders (Manal Abdulaziz, Faiz Mohammad, Ritaj Mohammad, Habibou Sarr, and Rayan Ali) pulled together another school-wide workshop to welcome back the holy month of Ramadan.

This year, we express our gratitude to NISL parents who used the wishlist to donate materials to mark this memorable activity and Sr. Nour Aljalab's few weeks as STUCO Adviser.
