Four of our Cahaba students have already reached an incredible milestone, reading over one million words this school year! This achievement perfectly embodies our school theme, "Reaching New Heights." Their dedication to reading has truly taken them to a new level. Max C. leads the way with a stunning 2,075,117 words, followed by Max A. at 1,347,220, Roy at 1,282,709, and Jackson at 1,188,708.

By dedicating themselves to reading, these students have not only expanded their minds but also set an inspiring example for all of us. Their hard work proves that with effort and passion, we can all reach new heights in our own learning journeys.

Hewitt-Trussville Middle School officially kicked off its fall semester clubs on Tuesday, giving students the chance to dive into a wide variety of activities that connect them with peers and staff while having fun. Clubs meet once a week, creating a time for students to explore personal interests, learn new skills, and build relationships outside of the traditional classroom setting.

This semester’s lineup offers something for everyone, with options ranging from Archery, King of the Court, and Girls Healthy Habits to creative and interest-based clubs like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Stop Animation, and Disney. Students can also enjoy laid-back activities such as Puzzle Club, Coloring Club, or Relax, Read, and Draw, while others may choose to challenge themselves in clubs like Audition and Performance Prep or Learning Basic Sign Language. With so many unique opportunities, HTMS clubs continue to be a highlight of the school year, bringing students together in fun and meaningful ways.

Paine's Husky Hangout

Paine Elementary has introduced a new tradition called Husky Hangouts, designed to strengthen relationships and build community among faculty and staff. Each month, a different group of staff members will host a fun gathering where all PES faculty and staff are invited to spend time together outside of the school day.

The purpose of Husky Hangouts is simple: to give colleagues the chance to laugh, relax, and connect. At Paine, staff are more than coworkers—they are a family, and these gatherings provide another opportunity to celebrate that spirit.

The very first Husky Hangout was hosted by the school’s office staff, who kicked things off at the first home game of the season. Their event set the tone for what is expected to become a much-loved tradition at Paine Elementary.
