LISD Families,

As we reach the final days of the 2025-26 school year, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your continued partnership and support.

We cannot wait to celebrate the Lewisville ISD Class of 2026 at the end of May. Over 4,000 diplomas will be awarded to LISD students at the Star in Frisco, recognizing the hard work and dedication of our students throughout their educational journeys. This month, we also recognize the graduates of our Night High School program, as well as our Collegiate Academy students who have earned their Associate’s Degrees from our partners at Collin College.

Our Board recently passed a compensation plan that provides raises for all staff, in addition to the teacher retention allotment provisions for teachers who are in years three and up. This approach ensures that teachers with the highest years of service receive the largest raise.

I am pleased to share that the Board of Trustees recently approved a compensation plan for staff and authorized the launch of Project Rise, a strategic approach to addressing staff recruitment and retention at our Title I elementary and middle schools through increased compensation and intentional staffing.

These vital initiatives are made possible by the strategic investment measures we have implemented over the past few years. While the state funding formula does not provide for compensation for all staff, due to budget reductions, school retirements, land sales, and other revenue generating endeavors our Board is putting as much money as possible towards recruiting and retaining high quality staff in a very competitive DFW market.

As we look towards the summer and the 2026-27 school year, here are a few items to watch for:

Facility News: You can find the latest updates regarding the Highland Village location on our district website.
Back-to-School (BTS) 2026: Our BTS website will go live the week of July 27.
Skyward Transition: LISD is transitioning to a new version of Skyward. When the BTS newsletter arrives in July, detailed information will be included as we move to this updated platform. A tentative timeline for the transition is outlined in this newsletter.
Bond Updates: You may notice construction across a number of our campuses this summer as work continues on voter-approved bond projects. Click HERE to see a list of projects currently underway or beginning soon.

Thank you for choosing LISD for your family. I wish you a safe and restful summer break!

Board Election Results

LISD voters elected Dr. Staci Barker for Single-Member District 5 on May 2, 2026. Paige Dixon ran unopposed and was elected for Single-Member District 4. Results were made official at the May 12 special board meeting, and LISD alum Judge James Kerbow administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected Board members.

At the Special Board meeting, the Board also elected officers for the 2026-27 school year. Allison Lassahn was elected Board President, Dr. Sheila Taylor was elected Board Vice President, and Katherine Sells was elected Board Secretary.

As you may be aware, LISD's Skyward Student Management System will migrate to the Skyward Qmlativ Student Information System this summer. When you login to Skyward Family Access in the fall, you can expect the platform to look different. Helpful resources will be available in our Back-to-School newsletter and materials in July. Tentative important dates for the transition include:

May 31 | Enrollment is Paused
June 1 - July 13 | Enrollment Unavailable
July 13 | Enrollment Resumes
Aug. 3 | Family Access and Back-to-School Forms Open
Aug. 5 | Student Schedules Released at 4 p.m.

Enroll by May 31, 2026

Lewisville ISD will be migrating to an upgraded Student Information System within Skyward, and all enrollment applications must be submitted by May 31 in order for student information to transfer over. Any applications in progress and not complete as of May 31 will be lost as the Skyward migration process begins in June. Families would be required to restart their paperwork once the system is back up and running. LISD enrollment will be unavailable from June 1 through July 13. Enrollment will resume after July 13.
