School-Parent Compact

School-Parent Compact
School-ParentCompact

The 2026-2027 School-Parent Compact has outlined how parents, the school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improving student academic achievement. The purpose of this compact is to develop a partnership to connect learning at home and learning at school.

As a parent/caregiver, I will strive to:

  • See that my child attends school regularly and provides documentation when absences occur

  • Monitor my child’s progress and communicate with him/her daily/weekly about school

  • Check with my child for information sent home, promptly respond as needed

  • Engage in school functions and parent-teacher conferences

  • Provide a time and place for my child to complete homework, study, and read

  • Communicate with the teacher frequently to find out how my child is doing in school

  • Be aware and supportive of school mission, vision, and beliefs

As a teacher, I will strive to:

  • Create a classroom environment that supports collaboration, creativity/innovation, character/citizenship, communication, critical thinking, and celebration.

  • Assist students with SMART Goal setting as well as set self SMART Goals (reach out to teacher for what your child’s SMART Goals are)

  • Have an annual meeting to review the School-Parent Compact and school level Parent Involvement Plan

  • Hold Parent-Teacher Conferences 2 times a year and more often if needed

  • Maintain open lines of communication with students and parents

  • Facilitate student led conferences to communicate current progress

  • Collaborate with all staff members to support academic, emotional, and social needs for students

As a student, I will strive to:

  • Be an active participant in SMART Goal setting

  • Share progress at student-led conferences

  • Show respect for myself, my school, and other people

  • Engage in collaboration, creativity/innovation, character/citizenship, communication, critical thinking, and celebration

  • Learn from failures and ask for help when needed
