Message from Nicole Pease, Principal
Happy almost First Day of School DCS families, welcome to returning, new students, and their families! We are so looking forward to seeing you! There are many mixed feelings about the start of school; excitement that your students will be back in school, wishing summer weren't over, curiousness about the classroom setups, etc. We are excitedly preparing for the start of the school year!
Some reminders about drop off and pick up; mainly our parking lot is small.
Arrival begins at 8:20am: If you arrive before the buses, please pull into a parking spot and wait until the DCS Staff are outside disembarking the buses. If you pull up behind the buses, staff will support your student in exiting your vehicle. If your student take a bit of extra time to get out of the car, please pull into a parking space to allow the flow of drop offs to continue. It may take a few minutes to drop your student off, please be patient. This is about the safety of elementary students. We will not have a pull through option this year.
Dismissal begins at 3:25pm: The buses must be able to get in to the parking lot, so be aware if you arrive before 3:25pm. Consider pulling into a parking spot thus not blocking the path of the buses and pull up behind the buses as pick ups will be waiting in the pavilion for their turn.
This process can take some time, please be patient as we get back into the routine.
Pick Up Patrol
Please be sure to identify your student's default plan for dismissal prior to the first day of school, and prior to 2:55pm on the following days. This will help avoid last minute confusion.
Enjoy these last days of summer! Nicole
