Hawk Highlights
Dear HMS Families and Friends,
Another four-day week full of learning is under our belt! I truly enjoy spending time in our amazing classrooms and seeing the curiosity, collaboration, and care that fill HMS each day. From third-graders in Amplify lessons, where students were learning about amphibians and using their reading to complete information webs, to first-grade classrooms where students worked together to solve math problems and explain their thinking, our building is buzzing with an excitement for learning. We also had a successful Picture Day and Vision Screening Day. Thank you to everyone who helped those events run smoothly!
Looking ahead, our Spirit Committee is inviting students to wear Halloween colors—orange, purple, and/or black—on Thursday, October 22. Please remember, no costumes for this spirit day.
There are also lots of fun community events happening this weekend, and I hope to see many of you around town. Enjoy the weekend!

Raptor Check-In System
As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, Harold Martin School uses the Raptor Visitor Management System for volunteers and visitors entering the building during the school day. Raptor is designed to help schools manage and screen visitors and volunteers through a secure check-in process.
When visiting or volunteering at HMS during the school day, please bring a valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID. At our main office, an iPad is used to scan the front and back of the ID as part of the Raptor check-in process.
We understand that some individuals may prefer not to have their identification scanned, and we respect that choice. Because completion of the Raptor check-in process is required for visitors entering the school during the school day, we are happy to provide alternative ways to meet. These may include a virtual meeting or an in-person meeting at the SAU office.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us maintain a safe and secure environment for our students and staff.
Volunteer and Chaperone Procedures
All volunteers and chaperones in the Hopkinton School District are required to complete fingerprinting through the NH Department of Safety every three years. If you need to schedule an appointment, you can do so using the link below. If you are unsure when you were last fingerprinted, please contact the HMS office at 603-746-3473, and we will be happy to help.

Spooky Tooky
On October 17, from 3:30-5:30, the PTA will be at Houston Drive with a Haunted Trail, a popcorn bar, and spirit wear for sale (including Spooky Tooky sweatshirts). There will also be games, touch a truck, trunk or treat, and more! Get involved! If you'd like to set up your vehicle in the trunk or treat or volunteer with the event (including setup and break down), reach out by email. Volunteers are open to middle school and high school students as well as adults.
October Book Fair
Our Harold Martin School Book Fair is almost here thanks to our librarians, Mrs. Marino and Mrs. Bohlman. The Book Fair will be here the week of October 26-October 30 with Family Night on October 27.
