End of Year Update

Corinth MiddleSchool End of Year Update

Final Exams and End of the Year Schedule

As we prepare for our final push toward the end of the school year, its extremely important students are attending school regularly and putting in maximum effort. During the month of June, all core classes will be giving a final exam. These exams are cumulative and will give our staff critical information on the retention of information provided throughout the year. Students who fail to earn a 65% on any academic course will be offered summer school to prepare for the upcoming school year. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions regarding course grades. You can also view your child's grades through the parent portal via E-school.

In addition, I would like to take the opportunity to share with you the schedule for the end of the year. Breakfast will be offered to students in the classroom daily.

8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony

Students will take final cumulative exams during exam week. Please keep in mind that no students' grades will be negatively affected by their final exam score. Students will have the opportunity to replace their lowest quarter grade with their final exam score, if it helps their overall final average. This will give students the opportunity to show what they have learned this year without the additional pressure usually associated with final exams. If students are able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the material, their average will be positively impacted.

End of Year Awards Ceremonies

As we conclude the 2022-2023 school year, I wanted to give you some additional information about this year's award and moving up ceremonies. Parents of students in grades 5-7 who will be recognized on stage will receive a letter in the mail inviting them to attend the ceremony. All eighth grade families will be invited to attend the Moving up Ceremony and will need to reserve seats for this event. More information on this will be sent home in the next few weeks.

Proof of immunization is required 14 days from the start of school. This proof is required for continued school attendance and is reported to the state yearly. Specific New York State Immunization Regulations are available on the NYSDOH website. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the middle school office.
