Welcome Back to School!

Dear Panther Families,

We are thrilled to welcome you to a brand-new school year! We hope your summer was filled with fun, rest, and time with loved ones. As we prepare to begin an exciting year of learning, growth, and connection, we can’t wait to join you in the adventure ahead.

This year, our theme is: " Leading the Search for Success!"

Just like the clever and curious Pink Panther, our students will be on a mission to discover their strengths, set bold goals, and lead with purpose. Throughout the year, our Pink Panthers will explore the path to success by staying curious, thinking creatively, and leading with kindness. We’ll celebrate every step forward—big or small—because every act of growth is a clue on the journey to becoming confident learners and compassionate leaders.

With your partnership and support, we’re ready to uncover the potential in every Panther and make this year one to remember. Let the search begin!

New Leadership School

We are excited to share an important update as we continue to grow and strengthen our school’s leadership culture. This year, we are shifting from being a “Leader in Me” school to becoming a full “Leadership School” rooted in our own Panther identity and values.

While our core commitment to empowering students as leaders remains the same, we are embracing a new set of Leadership Habits designed to be simpler, student-friendly, and uniquely tailored to our school community. These habits will guide everything we do—from classroom lessons to school-wide events—as we help our students become confident, capable, and compassionate leaders.

Introducing Our New Leadership Habits:

🐾 Habit #1 – Own It! (Responsibility)
I take responsibility for my actions and attitude.

🐾 Habit #2 – Plan It! (Goal Setting)
I set goals and make a plan to reach them.

🐾 Habit #3 – Prioritize It! (Time Management)
I focus on what matters most and manage my time well.

🐾 Habit #4 – Find the Win! (Empathy & Balance)
I look for solutions where everyone benefits.

🐾 Habit #5 – Listen Up! (Communication)
I listen to others before I speak.

🐾 Habit #6 – Team Up! (Teamwork)
I work well with others and value everyone’s ideas.

🐾 Habit #7 – Refuel! (Wellness)
I take care of my body, brain, heart, and overall well-being.

🐾 Habit #8 – Lead Out! (Purpose and Influence)

I lead by example and help others discover their strengths.

These habits will be taught, modeled, and celebrated throughout the school year. You’ll see them come to life in student leadership roles, classroom activities, Panther goal tracking, and more. Our goal is to help every student “lead the search for success” by equipping them with real-world skills that will serve them now and in the future.

We are proud of this transition and know it will make our leadership program even stronger and more meaningful for students and families alike.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we build a community of curious, courageous, and kind Panthers!

PLEASE HELP OUR DROP OFF/PICK UP AFTER SCHOOL PROCESS

Our main goal after school is to keep students safe!

I love that our middle school and junior high students come and pick up their younger siblings, however, for safety reason it is problematic to have them enter the building during school hours or right as the bell rings at the end of the day. If you have chosen an older sibling to pick up a Park student, please have them choose a designated area OUTSIDE of the building to meet. Our focus is on having Park students exit our building at he end of the day safely without additional students entering our building.

Will you please follow the recommended rules below to help us with this?

1. The preferred location to pick up students is the BACK of the school, located on 700 E. Please use the pull through lane to do that.

2. Students should never get into a vehicle that is stopped in the middle of the road. PLEASE use the pull through lane or a parking stall.

3. Students should never run across the road, they need to use the crosswalk every time.

We understand that there are quite a few cars picking up students after school and we are trying to get cars in and out as quickly as possible. The pull through lane really does die down after 3:05pm.

Another option is to have your student use one of the designated crosswalk to meet you on a different road; on the north side of 700 E or 600 E, etc.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe-

Reminder to pay donations for the coming year!

Every year, parents are asked for a $25 per child donation to the school. This donation money is used in a variety of ways throughout the year to benefit students.

To donate, log on to your Infinite Campus portal and click on "Fees". From there you can chose the amount you would like or able to donate. You can also come in to the office to pay the donation during office hours. Note: There is a small processing free for an in-person transaction.

Click here to log in to your Infinite Campus account and donate today!

WHAT IS THE DONATION MONEY USED FOR?

A large portion of the funds are divided up and given directly to each grade level teacher. The teacher uses his or her donation account to pay for things like supplies and materials for lessons, resources for class parties and activities, field trips and other needed items.

A small portion of the funds are used to fund the following school-wide events:

*Toy Tower in the front office (students earn tokens to use in the toy tower)

*Birthday gift for every student

*Assemblies

*Field trips

*Field Day

*Rewards for citizenship

*Sports and PE Equipment

*Turkey Trot

New Cell Phone Policy

The new cell phone policy introduces tailored guidelines for Nebo District students. Please note that students, in all schools, are allowed to use an electronic device in the following situations:

  • to respond to an imminent threat to the health or safety of an individual;

  • to respond to a school-wide emergency;

  • to use the SafeUT Crisis Line;

  • for limited use if specifically authorized by a student’s IEP or Section 504 accommodation plan; or

  • to address a medical necessity.

Elementary & Middle/Junior High Schools

  • Cell phones and smartwatches are not to be used in the school building during school hours. Cell phones must be stowed away in a backpack, purse, or bag, secured by the student, and set to a mode where notifications cannot be received. While smartwatches may be worn, they must also be set so that notifications cannot be sent nor received.

  • If a student needs to communicate with a parent/guardian, the student may use their cell phone in either the front office or counseling office with permission. This should occur on a limited basis and is intended for students experiencing a crisis during the day for which they need assistance from their parent/guardian.

  • Cell phones may not be taken with students when using a hall pass unless they are going to the office to contact their parent/guardian. Smartwatches may not be used to send or receive notifications or make phone calls when using a hall pass.
