Student Council
We are excited to announce that our school's Student Council is returning this year! Student Council gives students a voice in our school community, helps plan events, and reinforces leadership skills. We are looking for responsible, creative, and dedicated students to run for office!
Open Positions:
President (8th grade only): Leads Student Council meetings, represents the student body, and works closely with staff to plan school-wide activities.
Vice President (7th or 8th grade): Supports the President, helps organize projects and events, and steps in when the President (or other officers) is unavailable.
Secretary (any grade): Keeps meeting notes, helps share information with classmates and staff, and assists with communication.
Treasurer (any grade): Helps manage fundraising efforts, keeps track of student council funds, and reports on spending.
How to Run:
Interested students should pick up an application packet from the main office by Friday, September 12. Completed packets are due no later than 1:45 p.m. on Monday, September 15. Campaigning and elections will take place later this month!
Let's make this year's Student Council a strong student voice for our school!

Nurse's Corner

Dear Families,
My name is Ann Keenan, I am the school nurse at Scott Middle School. As your child’s school nurse, I am responsible for the health needs of your child during the school day. Please let me know if there are any health concerns or accommodations needed for your student to access their education. Good communication is the best way to provide a safe and healthy school environment.
The Pennsylvania Health Department requires all 6th grade students to have a physical examination for school attendance. The physical should include a health history, immunizations, scoliosis screening, as well as the annual growth and vision screenings. Also, all 7th grade students require a dental form to be handed in.
Please visit your family doctor to complete your student’ physical, update immunizations and renew medication requests, if needed. All physicals should be submitted by the end of winter break. Any medication required in school must have proper paperwork completed and delivered to school by an adult. Students are not allowed to carry any medication without approval.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Take care.
Ann Keenan RN

If your child needs medication 2025-2026 school year, please remember the following:
** All medication must be in a labeled container from the store. All prescriptions must be in a labeled container from the pharmacy with the student’s name on and correct dose. (In the case of an inhaler, it must be in the box from the pharmacy or be accompanied by a doctor’s note.)
** All medication must have a note from the parent/ guardian
** Any changes in dosage need to be in writing. If it is a prescription medication, we must have a note from the doctor. (We can only give medication according to the store label or doctor’s orders.)
** All medication needs to be transported by an adult.
Additional Reminders:
All 6th grade students will require a Physical exam by their own health care provider by Winter Break
All 7th grade students will require a Dental exam by their own dental care provider by Winter Break.
Any 7th grade students without updated immunizations (Tdap and Meningitis) risk exclusion from school. Multiple notices were sent to students who are out of compliance for 7th grade attendance, the last sent home last week. Students that come to school today without the required paperwork or proof of an appointment, will be sent home.
If your student needs medication in school, please have their doctor complete the medication form and have an adult bring the medication to the school nurse.
