Come to the Book Fair through Dec. 9 in the Parent Center

The Scholastic Book Fair has begun! Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become bolder, prouder and stronger readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.

  • This year, say hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account.

  • Before the fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases.

*Check the wish lists posted outside the main office if you would like to shop for your child's teacher/classroom.*

Shop late during Literacy Night on Thursday, Dec. 8, from 5:30-7 pm

  • Get your J.O. Wilson swag

  • Play games to build literacy skills

  • Record an “I Love J.O. Wilson” video

If you can’t make it to the fair, then shop at our school’s online book fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Online ordering is open until Dec. 18.

We still need volunteers to help staff the book fair. Please sign-up here -

Join us for our next General Body Meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m.

Wilson students are automatically members of the PTA and are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Register in advance for this meeting:

Thank You! Thank You!

We raised over $3,000 on Giving Tuesday thanks to our generous Cardinal Community. There’s still time to donate to the Cardinal Fund to help the PTA reach our $5,000 goal for our 2022 Giving Drive.

The PTA's Cardinal Fund raises money for teacher grants, enrichment programs for students and special events that bring our school community together. All donations are tax-deductible.

Share Your JOW Love!

We want everyone to know how much we love J.O. Wilson! Join the “I Love J.O.” campaign by recording a short video featuring you or your Cardinal telling us why you love J.O. Wilson, and send it to Mr. Bellamy at Sean.Bellamy@k12.dc.gov. We’ll also have testimonial opportunities for parents and students during the Book Fair on Dec. 7 and 8.

Don’t want to make a video? Send pictures of your Cardinal engaged in school or school-sponsored activities to jowilsonpta@gmail.com.

Videos and photos will be used on the school’s website and social media platforms.

Tell Your Story to the H Street Oral History Project.

Mosaic Theater Company at Atlas Performing Arts Center on H Street is seeking current and former residents of the H Street Corridor to interview for plays they are writing for the H Street Oral History Project.

The interviews will focus on the protests in 1968 following the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and the summer 2020 Black Lives Matter protests. This work will culminate in spring 2023 through a week-long festival, where all three plays will premiere as staged readings. All interviews and plays will be archived in the DC Public Library oral history collections.

If you are a former or current H Street corridor resident and would like to be interviewed, please contact HStreetOH@mosaictheater.org or fill out the form here https://mosaictheater.org/h-street-oral-history.

Interviewees will receive a stipend.
