Holy Rosary School Derby

Happy end of hump week families. We are now over half way through the term and I would like to thank all our families for supporting attendance at school. Our staff feel valued when you support them through ensuring your children come to school everyday, thank you.

We held our Cross-country carnival on Thursday with our inter-school team now selected. Thank you to Miss Alexis for organising and for the great support by the staff to run this carnival. We wish our inter-school team all the best for the Broome Carnival on Friday 5th June. Notes have gone home to the families of the students who have been selected to compete.

We have begun implementing a wonderful social-emotional program called Kimochis. Miss Collette has begun creating some great lessons to teach students to recognise feelings and to understand how to manage those feelings. There will be a parent information session after school on Thursday 4th June from 2.30pm. Please come along to find out more about this amazing program and how you can support this learning at home.

Looking forward to a fabulous few weeks now that the dry season has kicked in. Don't forget to check out a Facebook page and regularly check on Seesaw to find out what your child is doing in their class.

We had an awesome afternoon celebrating some of our students being Baptised. Thank you to Miss Di for organising and to Fr Bryan for officiating the ceremony. A lovely afternoon tea was enjoyed in the Multi-purpose room afterwards and a special Baptism cake was also enjoyed and was made by Miss Collette. Check out the photo of all of our happy Baptised faces.

A reminder that students are NOT permitted to bring toys, sports equipment or special items to school. Staff are not able to take responsibility of these items to stop them from being lost or damaged. We ask families to support us with this and ensure that special items are kept at home.

Miss Collette will be holding a Parent Information session from 2.30pm at the school sharing all the details of this fabulous social-emotional program we are implementing across the school. We encourage you to attend so that you can hear about ways to support this program at home.

A reminder that students are expected to wear their school uniform each day. Uniform items are available from Admin. Please be reminded that students are expected to wear Royal Blue shorts/skorts. Black is not a school colour option.

SHOES: A reminder that students from Years 1 - 6 are expected to wear sandals with a back or sneakers. Crocs and slip on shoes are NOT permitted at school for safety reasons.
