Head Lice Head Lice

We wanted to make you aware that several cases of head lice have been reported in our school community. Head lice are common among school-aged children and do not reflect on cleanliness or hygiene. We kindly ask all families to check their child’s hair and scalp for any signs of lice or nits. If you do find anything, please begin treatment promptly and notify the school so we can provide support and help prevent further spread.
To help with prevention:
• Check your child’s head daily for the next couple of weeks
• Remind students to avoid sharing hats, brushes, hair accessories, or clothes
• Long hair can be kept tied back to reduce contact
• Treatment is one component of treating lice, but thorough combing of the hair (with the nit combs) is an important part to eradicate nits.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our school healthy and comfortable for everyone. If you have any questions or need guidance, please reach out to the office.

Mighty Ram Mentors Mighty Ram Mentors

Our 8th-grade mentors and preschool Rams came together again for another heart-warming Mighty Mentor Day—and this one was full of Christmas magic!

This week, our buddies teamed up to write letters to Santa, share stories about giving and receiving, and celebrate the joy and wonder of the holiday season. From excited little voices dreaming up wishes to our middle schoolers guiding, encouraging, and joining in the fun, it was a beautiful reminder of what this time of year is all about.

Each meeting continues to strengthen the bond between our big and little Rams—building leadership, kindness, confidence, and memories that will last far beyond December. These moments truly show the spirit of our Ram Family!

We are so proud of the love, laughter, and mentorship that shine through every time these buddies come together.

Denver Mint Tour Denver Mint Tour

On Tuesday, Mrs. Quick and her government class visited the Denver Mint for an up-close look at one of our nation’s most important financial institutions. Students learned that the Denver Mint is the largest producer of coins in the world, capable of striking up to 50 million coins every day.

One of the highlights of the tour was a unique display case showcasing every type of firearm and weapon used throughout the Mint’s history to protect the facility, including an iconic Tommy gun.

To round out the trip, the class stopped at The Populus, a newly opened hotel designed to resemble Aspen trees. Students enjoyed hot cocoa and coffee while taking in the atmosphere of the first carbon-positive hotel in the United States.

Monday night, our middle school Rams traveled to face off against the Merino Rams. Our players showed incredible effort on both offense and defense, hustling for every rebound and giving strong passes to set up scoring opportunities. The teams demonstrated excellent teamwork, executing plays with precision and supporting each other on the court.

They will be back on the court on Monday, December 8th in Haxtun.

MS and HS Band MS and HS Band

On Tuesday, the Akron middle school and high school band participated in the annual Parade of Lights. This year’s theme, “A Cowboy Christmas,” brought a festive Western flair to the evening. Our students played beautifully and helped light up the night with music and Ram pride.
