If the "Sunday Scaries" are a thing where Sunday evening anxiety spikes knowing that Monday morning brings about the work week, then I would argue that the "End of Summer Scaries" are a thing, too. The start of the school year means the end of summer is here. 🌞

We've been hard at work planning, scheduling, and preparing our buildings throughout the district as we get ready to receive our little learners. There is always excitement at the start of the school year because it is filled with endless opportunities to make friends, learn something new, and experience something for the first time!

While we continue to finalize our preparations here at school, I hope families soak in these final full days of summer with their littles. It feels like just yesterday I was starting my first day as principal at the Greatest Little Elementary School in the Universe! I blinked and am now starting year eight 😮

I'm sure all of our families recall when their little ones started their first day of Kindergarten, lost their first tooth, or had that first call home from the nurse (or principal 😆)! It sometimes feels like the days are long and the years are short.

As the start of the school year looms closer (first day of student attendance is Thursday, August 20), I encourage all families to take advantage of the final days of summer opportunity with your littles. Before you know it, they'll be awkward middle schoolers and then independent high schoolers.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon, but not just yet. Be sure to make the best of these final days of summer.

While preparations are in full swing to begin a brand new school year, I do hope that our Lil' Steamers and their families are soaking up every last minute of summer break. It won't be long now until school resumes and schedules at home have to adjust a bit.

Behind the scenes, our halls are being polished, classrooms are coming together, and our teachers and staff are working hard to prepare for an incredible year ahead. We can’t wait to fill these halls with the energy, smiles, and curiosity that our students bring every single day!

As we count down these final days of summer, here are a few gentle reminders to help ease the transition back into the school routine:

Adjust Bedtimes Early: Shifting sleep schedules back to a school-night routine a few days before the first bell makes those first few mornings much easier on everyone.
Talk About the Excitement: Whether your child is eager to meet their new teacher, reunite with friends, or jump into new projects, chatting about what they're looking forward to helps build positive momentum.
Registration: For those who may not have completed it quite yet, please remember to get your registration completed sooner than later!

Enjoy these remaining sunny days, take time to relax, and get ready for a wonderful year of learning and growth. We are so proud to serve this community and can't wait to welcome our Lil' Steamers back very soon!

Kindergarten Signing Day

Starting Kindergarten is a huge milestone, and we want to make the transition to the "big school" as smooth and exciting as possible for both our new students and their grown-ups!

To help ease those first-day jitters, we are hosting Kindergarten Signing Day on Tuesday, August 18, starting at 2:00 PM.

These short, 15-minute family meetings are a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet their teacher, explore their new environment, and officially "sign on" for a great school year in a calm, welcoming setting.

What You Need to Know:

Homeroom Lists Published: Friday, August 7
Scheduling Your Visit: Once homeroom assignments are posted, your child’s teacher will reach out directly to help you set up your 15-minute time slot.
Scheduling Conflicts? If the August 18 afternoon window doesn't work for your family, please connect directly with your child's teacher after they reach out to arrange an alternative.
