Family Edition: September 2020

Welcome

Welcome to the Copper Creek Library! I am so excited for your students to come in and start checking out books. This is my 7th year as a school librarian and my favorite part of my job is when a student is so excited to share about a book they enjoyed!

Library Policies

In order to promote responsibility and enhance literary skills, all students will be able to check out books from the school library. The number of books checked out and loan period varies by grade.

Kindergarten-

Check out one book from a designated “kinder case” which contains books that the librarian selects. In the spring students are taught how to choose books from the Everybody section.
Visit the library every week for storytime and check out

1st grade-

Checks out one book at the beginning of the year. The book has to be from the Everybody section and a good fit for them. When students come back from Winter break they will be allowed to check out 2 books as long as they have demonstrated safe book care. One book will need to be a good fit and the other can be their choice.

2nd grade-

Allowed to check out two books at a time
Visit the library every week for storytime and check out

3rd-5th grade-

Allowed to check out three books at a time
Visit the library every other week for lesson and check out
4th-5th are allowed to check out play-a-ways with a signed permission form.

We do not charge a fine for late books.

Remote Learners Check Out Opportunity

We will start a curbside check out service for our remote learners September 22 from 3:00pm-3:30pm. I will be getting more information to remote families soon!
