Prayer for Servant Leadership
Loving God,
You sent us Your Son, Jesus, who showed us that true leadership is found in serving others.
Bless us with hearts of humility, kindness, and courage,
that we may lead by example, listen with compassion,
and always place the needs of others before our own.
May our words and actions reflect Your love.
Amen.

Farewell Eugene Potito
In the Gospels, Jesus reminds us that true leadership is found in service to others: “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant” (Matthew 20:26). Servant leadership is shown through humility, compassion, and a genuine desire to place the needs of others first.
At St Denis, we have been truly blessed to witness this in the leadership of our Assistant Principal, Eugene Potito. Eugene has served our community with dedication, kindness and a generous heart, always seeking to support staff, students and families with care. His commitment has been a living example of the servant leadership that Jesus calls us to.
As Eugene prepares to continue his journey of service at St John’s Community, we give thanks for all he has contributed to our school and pray that God may bless and guide him in this next chapter.
Congratulations to Manny on his Spelling Bee Success!
We were thrilled to hear last week that Manny (Year 4) has advanced to the National Final of the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee, finishing in the top three for his age in Western Australia. This is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of his dedication, hard work and SPEED. Well done, Manny!
Mission Fun Day – Wear Your Pyjamas!
This Friday we will be holding a Mission Fun Day to support Catholic Missions. To join in the fun, students are invited to come to school in their pyjamas. In return, we ask for a gold coin donation which will go directly towards helping the important work of Catholic Missions.
This is a wonderful way for our students to have some fun while also making a difference for others in need. Thank you for supporting this special initiative!
Carnival News
After the weather washed out our Interschool Cross Country earlier this term, we are thrilled that Monday is shaping up to be a perfect day for the rescheduled event. St Denis is hosting the cross country for our regional schools and Mrs Mac’s preparation has once again set the stage for what should be a wonderful day. A huge thank you to Mrs Mac for her ongoing support of our students and for organising such great opportunities for them to participate in.
Looking ahead, our Athletics Carnival on the last day of term promises to be another highlight. While the much-loved parent / student / teacher race will be retired this year, we have something just as fun planned, a brand-new novelty race featuring some very special guests. I kindly ask parents to please respect the parent and children's boundaries on the day so that we can ensure the safety of our students and run the carnival as smoothly as possible. Your support is greatly appreciated.
P&F Committee Update
As we look to the end of Term 3, our P&F Committee President, Tegan, and Vice President, Gloria, have advised that they will be concluding their roles at the end of this year. I am grateful for the countless hours they have dedicated to supporting our school community.
Looking ahead to 2026, this change provides an opportunity for new parents to step forward and take an active role in the life of the school. The P&F is a vital part of our community and every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference. We will be looking for an additional two to four members to join our P&F Executive and I warmly encourage parents to consider nominating for the P&F Committee for next year. Nomination details will be shared early in Term 4 and I hope many of you will consider getting involved.
Change of Date: Year 6 Graduation Mass and Morning tea
We are excited to share some updated details for our Year 6 students and families as we celebrate this special milestone. In the final week of school, our Graduation Mass will be held on Thursday 11 December, followed by a morning tea back at school to honour our graduating class.
The celebrations will continue Friday 12 December with a Year 6 school-based Fun Day. Further details about this day will be shared closer to the date.
Have a wonderful week, everyone. I wish everyone a wonderful break in the upcoming school holidays.
